yn stared at her phone, eagerly awaiting beomgyu to reply to her message.

he had a life outside of her, which she knew and didn't have a problem with, bit shouldn't couldn't shake this feeling she had in the pit of her stomach.

he never takes this long to reply.

she wondered if she should message him again but she didn't want to come off as overbearing and it seemed that yeonjun was doing a great job at comforting him.

'but why did he need comfort?'

the thought plagued her relentlessly, because the only person he was with before he went with yeonjun... was her.

she thought back to every single interaction that they had while he was at her house. dhe couldn't recall anything out of the ordinary bur she figured that it had to have been that she had said something bad if he needed to skip school with yeonjun for it.

a gentle vibration from her phone shook her from her thoughts and she rushed to grab it, her excitement dissipating in an instant when she saw the name that flashed on the screen.

chaeyoung.

yn took a deep breathe and begrudgingly answered the phone, bracing herself for whatever charyoung had to say to her.

after a slight pause, chaeyoung cleared her throat and softly spoke into the phone.

"hey yn, I hope you're doing good and I know I'm probably the last person you want to talk to, but can we meet up somewhere? it'll be quick, I promise."

"that depends on what you want us to talk about." yn countered curtly, her voice sounding slightly annoyed.

"I wanna apologise, in person for everything. but if you don't wanna meet up that's perfectly okay too, I don't wanna force you to do anything."

yn sighed, deciding to at least try to hear her out. once they both agreed to meet at their local coffee shop, she quickly threw on an outfit and walked there, not being sure if she was ready to face chaeyoung.

she stepped into the shop, and chaeyoung raised her head at the sound of the bell atop the door ringing, signaling her to the table she was seated at.

yn sat in the chair, seeming to screech across the floor louder then usual, and looked at chaeyoung who was looking down at her hands.

"I'm really sorry for hating you just because your were dating beomgyu. and I'm sorry for not leaving you or him alone."

yn sighed for what felt like the tenth time that day, tapping her fingers on the table. "I just wanna know why it was so hard for you to get over him?"

"well, beomgyu was the first person I ever loved, like romantically, and I guess I became too overbearing and that's why he broke up with me. it was really hard to let go of him since he was such a big part of my life for a while but that's no excuse for the way I acted."

she took a breathe, nervously fiddling with her fingers and finally looking up at yn.

"I completely understand if you don't accept my apology but I hope we can... start over?"

yn stared at her blankly, and chaeyoung waited with baited breath for her response.

"if you don't want to I get it-" she paused, suddenly interrupted by yn.

"hi, my names yn. it's nice to meet you." she stuck out her hand, a small smile playing on her mouth.

chaeyoungs open mouth morphed into a smile as she took yns hand in hers, shaking it lightly.

"my names chaeyoung, and it's nice to officially meet you too." she giggled at the silliness of their antics, but she and yn both had to admit that starting over felt... nice.

from reese, with love <3 soft hours are once again here, 've had a pretty long day so writing this was a very nice break...no thoughts, only wistful sighs

it’s late in the afternoon and the two of you are walking through a busy street. the sun is high up, and his shoulders continuously brush against those of strangers as both of you weave through them. he didn’t mind until he realises that he’s lost sight of you, you’ve disappeared into the sea of people. his eyes grow wide, his breath becoming heavier with each passing second, heartbeat ringing in his ears as he desperately searches for your familiar face. his lips part to scream your name, but he feels a hand wrap around his own. “hey, i’m here.” your voice fills his senses and he can’t help but give your hand a gentle squeeze; he has no intent of letting you go anytime soon.

when he had bought that particular shirt, he didn’t really think too much into it. he just thought that it looked nice. and when you smiled and said “that shirt really suits you! you look very handsome!”, he doesn’t notice that his heart skipped a couple of beats. he just chalked it up to the same giddy feeling he had whenever someone complimented him. but when he subconsciously starts wearing that particular shirt more often than others, he had to actually ask himself why? he stands in front of his closet, wondering why there was a particular section filled with clothes you had complimented him on. it was around minute ten that his mind finally heard what his heart had been screaming, “you like yn!!”

the two of you were out on a walk in a park when a leaf manages to land on top of your head. he reaches a hand out and gets it off before absentmindedly draping an arm around your shoulder. an old lady managed to watch this little interaction, “so cute! i hope you stay happy together.” he responds with nothing more than a smile and a thank you. it isn’t until a few minutes later that he realises : why didn’t he correct her? the two of you aren’t in a relationship…and it’s not like this is the first time you’ve been mistaken as a couple either. does he want to be in a relationship with you? with a single glance at your smile, he knew there was no other answer but yes.

— [11:11 am] perhaps approaching your crush when he looks like he just rolled out of bed wasn’t the best idea, yet here you were. it was now or never. sunwoo stands in front of you with tired, but wide eyes at your hastiness to talk to him.

you stop yourself before you can even get a word out. almost bolt away at his expression to forget your plans to confess to him, but moments where he made your heart beat a little faster than usual, caused a cage of butterflies to erupt in your tummy, and had you awake at the wee hours of the night staring at your ceiling with a warm hue painting your cheeks all because of a simple hug when you said goodbye was enough to keep you rooted in your spot.

“kim sunwoo,” you say, chest puffed out and shoulders straight. “i like you. a lot.”

the boy in front of you says nothing, eyes still wide. it’s silent for a second, then another, and then another when you realize that he might not experience the same feelings you do during those heart fluttering moments that you share. a few passerby’s could probably hear your heart break just a twinge if they listened closely.

sunwoo feels wide awake now, shaking his head slightly to snap him out of his daze. he opens his mouth to say something, anything to your confession, but you know sunwoo like the back of your hand after spending all these years by his side and watching him with honey dripped gazes from afar. the look in his eyes is enough to tell you how he feels.

and sunwoo, knowing you like the back of his hand, can tell that you’ve already made up your mind. you see right through him in this moment, there was no changing, no lying, no beating around the bush that he could do in order to stop your heart from breaking in two. one half for you and one half for him. 

“it’s okay,” you interrupt him before he can get a word out, a small smile on your face. “I know you don’t feel the same way, but I just had to tell you. for me to clear my mind and finally stop thinking about you at every moment of my day.”

as you turn away, sunwoo’s hand reaches out to stop you and comfort you as he takes half a step forward but he retracts. sunwoo figures that it’s best he still says nothing because he does love you, but maybe not in the way you love him. it’s strange when you love someone. you’d rather hurt by yourself than have them hurt because of you.

you don’t look back in hopes that what you said was true.
