so a cool fun thing in my life rn is that iโm sick but my dad wonโt let me go to the doctor through his insurance (the only insurance i have) bc I just started a new job (working with disabled kids so insanely stressful) and he thinks no one should be able to take a sick day for the first three months of a job (fucking stupid)
so not only am i burning out and stressed and overworked and unable to access my meds withoutโโyou know, a doctor!!!โโ iโm also sick.
iโm such a bitch lately too, i have no energy or emotional bandwidth at the end of the day anymore.
iโm so tired.
iโm on episode 8 of my first supernatural watch and hereโs my impression of every conversation sam and dean have about their dad
dean: hey lol remember when he was kids and dad would tie one of us up in the trees and hand the other one a stick and weโd just beat the shit out of each other until we passed out so we could practice fighting uhhh piรฑata demons?
sam: yeah dude someone should have stopped dad tbh, that was messed up

okokok. idk where u are exactly other than somewhere in early-mid s4 based on not knowing anya very well and I see them in like s6 but. okay. anya/buffy/tara. to ME
anya could seriously help buffy/tara with feeling like outcasts. anya knows she's an outcast and while she does care it's not like ruining her life over here. she doesn't enjoy it but buffy literally falls apart at not fitting with how she thinks she's expected to and tara is just too quiet to properly speak up for herself most of the time. I think she could give them some real self-confidence, the ability to look at the world their own way and decide that they don't have to conform to other's standards to be loved. also anya could help them actually make a living without being awful about it. she's not just supporto girl, she's actually helpful with managing finances!
tara could teach the both of them patience. bc let's be real anya/buffy are go-go-go girls, they're not very good at slowing down without an outside force. and tara's empathy. feeling and caring for others beyond it's-my-duty and not-at-all. anya definitely needs help in the empathy department, and buffy really needs someone to show HER some empathy. honestly these girls just need a break and I think tara could provide a more calm, secure solace without condemning either of them for leaning on her
buffy I feel gives less and is more like... her life is so insane. can we sit down and relax for half a second please. can someone do that with me. please. bc she's ready to go but if anyone ever let her crash I think she WOULD. and I think anya/tara would be able to do that with her. anya is frantic but like I think she'd very much enjoy just being with buffy/tara and getting to experience Human Rituals she'd gone and forgotten about in her longgg time as a vengeance demon or simply never did before. they definitely make a whole thing of it, let anya have fun about it rather than it just being a bit stressful for her. and tara is so down-to-earth girl despite y'know the magic of her. she'd enjoy spending Time with them. also they all make fun of movies together PLEASE buffy and anya already do it u know they do we literally SEE buffy do it in canon if they could get tara comfortable enough she would sooo join in. tentatively at first, but she would! and it'd be a blast for them

i like the idea of each of them bringing something tjst the others lack and just like learning to be comfortable in themselves bc the same things they donโt like about themselves they Love in the other girls.
and like this bittersweet moment of looking in a sort of mirror and realizing that youโve been distorting your own reflection, that the features you didnโt like have always been forgivable and loveable.
sort of like a similar vibe to what spuffy has going!
i think buffy needs more ppl who donโt do that whole โiโm going to put you on a pedestal but also severely criticize you when you do anything that doesnโt fit my idea of Buffy โขโ that willow and xander are pretty apt to do.
i also love the idea of buffy just getting to have a girls night with them. no drama, no vamp talk, no weird history things getting in the way. just all of them getting to vent and wear homemade face masks that tara brought the ingredients for and โkicking the male speciesโ assโ storytelling and justโฆ so cathartic and nice and normal for them.
and if they all kiss?? it happens! can confirm, sometimes girls night are just like that.
on a somewhat related noteโ do you see this ot3 as happening in an au where tillow and xander/anya donโt happen? or is buffy about to have the most awkward scoobies talk of her life?
so i just moved to this new state and iโve been doing everything with my roommate (mostlyโ i kinda accidentally dated a guy when i first got here but thatโs not the story rn) and she bailed on me tonight

so many girls and women feel like they have to be some kind of girl or woman. like there are a handful of female archetypes and you have to force yourself to meet the requirements of one of them. like you must be an it girl or a sporty girl or a dark academic or a hot cheeto girl or a tomboy or a girly girl. but only one. and girls who realize theyโre complex multi-faceted people panic because they donโt fit cleanly into one type of woman. so you get posts like โis there an aesthetic is like cottagecore with a goth twist and a sprinkle of fairycore?โ youโre human, not a neat character perfectly crafted to fit into a narrative. itโs okay to just exist without obsessing over what specific vibe you give off. it is good to just exist.

Raven and Beast Boy being friends with benefits is so funny to me because their characters are so opposite to that yet they would definitely settle for it. This is a bit of a character study also kind of a fic idea.
Beast Boy craves normalcy, he wants the full commitment of a relationship, he's a lover boy first and foremost and he'd give his whole heart away in a second.
But that's also the whole reason he'd do a fwb situation, because he gave his whole heart away and he'll take what he can get. He's so insecure in himself he probably believes its the best he'll ever get, if he can't be loved by Raven atleast he doesn't disgust her.
Raven on the other hand rarely ever lets anyone in, it takes years to break through her walls and even longer for her to become used to your affection. She doesn't trust easily and after everything that's happened to her she guards her heart like a safe.
But Beast Boy spent his whole life breaking down her walls, she's used to his friendship, warmth and touch, he already snuck past her guards and set up camp in her heart. She would think that fwb is the closest she'll ever be allowed to feeling love, for she's unlovable, made to destroy not to be loved.
That's why I think it works so well, its a direct manifestation of their insecurities and desires. They want and they don't believe they can have, the two of them will always settle for what they think they deserve not knowing the other wants them too.
