Just everything I reblog

@shikitsuka / shikitsuka.tumblr.com

20s, polish, she/her, ace | awkward human being that likes nature too much | art blog: pyracanthaart

nobody’s ever really happy to find out they’ve stayed up too late.

it used to be a cool achievement but now it’s like

“fuck. god damn it. not again. shit.”

you reblogged this from me ten years in the past and right when I’m staying up late playing a game you recommended

googledocs you are getting awfully uppity for something that can’t differentiate between “its” and “it’s” correctly

oho and now you’re questioning my adverb usage? you? you?

you fucking dare?

you try to change ‘tears’ to ‘years’ for no reason but don’t catch ‘imporint’???

hey quick question gdocs

what the fuck

1. how the fuck did this post become so popular

2. everyone just commenting ‘QUERCHED’ is delightful

3. some people have suggested i use grammarly. this is letting the robots win and also would deprive me of the opportunity to complain about insignificant technical things instead of just wanting to scream over writing all the time

4. i use googledocs because i want access to my writing on multiple platforms and also because fuck microsoft

5. the difference between [its] and [it’s] is that [it’s] is always used as a shortened form of [it is] and [its] is used as the possessive of [it]. yes, this goes against the usual practice of just tacking on an [‘s] when you want to indicate ownership. yes, english is absolutely a trash language.

btw, gdoc’s most recent transgression:

noooope

LITERALLY THE EXACT OPPOSITE MEANING OF WHAT I WANT, GDOCS

i’m sorry what kind of AI FUCKERY is going on here that you are trying to ADD IN ADVERBS FOR ME that could ENTIRELY CHANGE THE TONE from a neutral ‘He’d been young’ to something that would put emphasis on just how young he was and how long ago it was you cannot just THROW EXTRA WORDS IN LIKE THAT

‘he’d been so young’ I’LL FUCKING KILL YOU

OH MY FUCKING GOD ARE YOU SERIOUS

me @ everyone else using googledocs:

YOU

I just listened to a podcast with an A.I. research scientist. She said if you wouldn’t trust autocorrect to be in charge of a decision, then you shouldn’t trust another A.I. with it, so… that’s something to worry about

Grammarly is not better.

querched

If you were thinking learning to proofread wasn’t actually helpful…

This is funny but also as someone who has dyslexia and relies heavily on spell check to communicate legibly this is honestly horrifying.

when i say i’m from ukraine, people assume i live somewhere else now. when i say i live in ukraine, they assume i’m somehow immune to war, and there’s a logical division between a ukrainian they chat with on discord and a ukrainian on the news. bitches my yaoi is written from the bomb shelter

Just an ordinary day in Ukraine. You live on the very edge of being killed at any moment.

In case foreign people wonder how is it possible to keep living under attacks. Well, I remind you air defence systems work. But that doesn’t normalise the existence of course.

The tag is awesome, I apply it to everything I draw.

one of the formative memories from war for me was when i was having a work meeting and someone asked "hey Coffee, what's that odd noise in your background? can you tune it off?" and my sleep deprived self cheery replied "sorry, this is shooting and detonation from an air raid, I can mute myself if it's too noticeable, I'm almost done with this report".

for me, it was so common it was... well. just there. only when the meeting fell into shocked silenceand then i received a couple of questions i realized that people just assumed "i'm from Ukraine" doesn't actually mean "i'm in Ukraine still"

also yeah, creating something to keep oneself sane is very, very, very crucial nowadays...

also keeping on living is the best fuck you to ruzzians considering they want us all dead

Plant updates.. hoya blooming again (slightly visible from a normal angle)

And also there's a bunch of feral Weirdos that get watered almost everyday between the Normal Plants?? (It's vegetable seedlings hi it's chaos)

Best thing my grandfather ever taught me is that you’ve gotta let yourself grunt and groan when you’re doing something difficult. Makes it easier.

Next time you lift something heavy go gggrrraaaugggghhhh ugh hurf really loudly. If it’s hard to get up in the morning, moan and groan while you do it. When reaching for something you can’t quite get, go hhhrrraaauuugghhbadar about it.

Makes everything easier.

My grandpa has been disabled in one form or another since he was in his early 20s and he worked in construction until his 50s. He knows about doing hard things. Whenever I was helping him with moving things as a kid he always told me to grunt and groan real loud about it. Makes it easier, he said. And it does. It always, always does. Making a real loud noise and complaining about it always makes it better.

In addition to the psychological benefits, grunting also stops you from reflexively holding your breath when you strain your muscles. Hard work is easier when you breathe.

Relatedly, this is the reason that martial artists are always making "huah!" sounds.

That last part is true! The sounds have a purpose!

“I enjoy controlled loneliness. I like wandering around the city alone. I’m not afraid of coming back to an empty flat and lying down in an empty bed. I’m afraid of having no one to miss, of having no one to love.”

This is a nice quote but if you’re polish, when you see that fucking KUBA WOJEWÓDZKI said that, you automatically receive mental damage

Thought I'll show you some photos @geopsych, including of one of my favourite butterflies- Gonepteryx rhamni, the only european butterfly that overwinters in fallen leaves! Looks like a leaf :D

So let me guess: heal-all and bellis daisies, coltsfoot, common violets with leaves of dead nettle?, pear blossoms, and a tulip with a brimstone butterfly. I'm in the states though so there may be errors.

First one's Lamium purpureum, heal-all won't start flowering until May, sometimes June. The violet's probably Viola odorata. Pear blossoms have red stamen, my guess for this one is some Prunus species.

Oops sorry yes!! I forgot you'll probably be interested in species names.. @theyoungwaldschrat and @drzewobojczyni are right, first photo is Lamium purpureum (purple deadnettle), accompanied by less visible friends- Stellaria media (chickweed), Geranium pusillum, of course Taraxum officinale (dandelion) and Bellis perennis (daisy).. probably some plantain and dock in there somewhere too, and grass i will not even try to ID. Second photo is coltsfoot Third is.. uh. violet. Anybody knows violet identification? Not me.. I looked it up once and gave up. Yes, stinging nettle photocrashing definitely. Second to last is a Mirabelle plum, Prunus cerasifera or some feral mix thereof. Also, had no idea that butterfly has such a name in english. Brimstone, really?? In polish its name could be translated to "lemony summer-leaf", i think I prefer that name :D

YOU'RE POLISH TOO! I should start checking blog infos before responding...

The name of the butterfly actually makes sense - 'brimstone' is a synonym for sulfur, which has a bright yellow color, just like this butterfly's wings

(I prefer the Polish name, too)

To be fair my username is kinda incognito :P. If you have Mirabelles nearby and you like sour sweets, Mirabelle jam is awesome. Attack me in dm's if you want details? Well, the male's wings anyway... I do know the color matches, but still.. sulphur stinks, is associated with hell.. why such a name for a little darling :( I prefer the lemon association definitely
