Mohammed Almanasra, his wife Manal, his son Abdulrahman, and his daughters Sarah and Lynn are in urgent need of donations.

They are living in a tent which does not protect them from heat or cold, and are without water, food, medical care, clothing, and bedding. Mohammed suffers from chronic asthma and cannot access and afford his medication. His wife has cancer which requires immediate medical attention. As far as I know, she is the first woman arrested bc of this law. The law requires that the trans person be warned to leave the bathroom by a state official, and then if they stay they are guilty of trespassing after a warning.

So like, me, my gf, others just piss and nobody asks or tells, but this young woman sent a statement about the law to over 100 FL lawmakers so they would know she was coming, the cops were ready for her, she brought a reporter and went in anyway and spent the night in a men's jail. She is out on bail, and is hoping this will inspire change of the law. But if found guilty, and the law is upheld as constitutional, then she could spend up to 60 days in a mens county jail.

it is impossible to make a man without subjecting a boy to transmisogyny. men simply would not exist as a social class without the policing and correction of deviance from masculinising regimes of the body. this is facilitated by the acute social disempowerment of children, to allow for the formation of a masculine gendered subjectivity through violence. drawing a border and what lies outside it, literally defines manhood, because gender is constituted in reality by its policing. manhood is not special in this, its just the locus of power.

the outside of manhood is the transmisogynised - understood by power as those who (bc cAMAB) continue to require masculinising violence in order to become the men they should be. when boys are subject to masculinising violence, it is a ward against their becoming-trannies. boys are nonetheless a part of this outside (yes, even the cis ones), along with trans girls, and others besides. its not the identity category that matters, its the organisation of masculinising violence against us. basically my only quibble is that a boy is not a trans girl because you dont need to be a trans girl to be a tranny.

some corollaries and reflections:

opposition to transmisogyny without youthlib and family abolition is a farce

this is the wellspring of a meaningful gender abolition, ie, one that understands that gender as it exists is all and only a system of control. children, the transmisogynised, and transmisogynised children especially are the constitutive terrain, the primary targets where gender is mobilised as discipline and control. this control is exercised through the family and for the reproduction of the family.

this is why i favour terms “transmisogynised” and “transmisogynisation”, because rather than identifying with some putative positive “femininity” we look to the negative, to transmisogyny and to transmisogynisation as institutional process broader than those of us who feel ourselves to be feminine, women, etc. this allows us to focus on our oppression and opposition to it rather than suggesting a positive collective identity. (yhis ties up with the gender abolition again). but this is a precision point. i like the vocabulary of transfeminisation just fine.

The very basics of feminism, i think, is the acknowledgment that for every form of oppression that women face there is simply not an equal and opposite force. It does not exist and attempts to create such forces are historically always anti-feminism, a way to shut up women or otherwise take attention away from them in their own movements. “Men also suffer under the patriarchy” is like, the modern most “feminist” restatement of this idea i think, and it serves to soften or draw attention away from the fact that opting into patriarchy lends men a ton of power.
