OMG thank you for telling me about the post-credit scene 😭 I, in fact, did not see it because Disney usually gives me the skip credits option when there is a post-credit scene, and I didn’t get it this time. I’m gonna have to edit the Frank point I made ASAP.
Totally agree on the Jessica Jones front. She is, after Matt, my favorite character from the Netflix Marvel Era. Simply because she was so complex and witty and their dynamic was just *chef’s kiss*.
The thing with Heather definitely wasn’t fleshed-out enough. You made such a good point with the ‘weren’t they living together?’ Because yes, she was staying with him, so why wasn’t she there? I feel like she just completely decided she’s done with him and ran into Fisk’s arms, and that could be very interesting if she appears in Season 2 and maybe gets a villain arc or something, and maybe we’ll learn more about her. Or maybe they’ll find a way to get rid of her, depending on where they want to go in Season 2. I haven’t heard any rumors about Heather appearing next season yet, but it would be nice to learn more about her because right now, her storyline feels very unfinished and with a lot of holes that I’d personally like to see filled. But I’d also understand if they killed her off, especially since being in cahoots with Fisk isn’t a very safe job.
Oh yes, it was definitely going back to the roots, and it was such a relief after the bullshit Matt was trying to sell as his new life the entire season. And now everything that happened really makes sense because if we look at it in the greater scope of things, Matt was living a fake life because he was missing his old one, and now that Karen’s back, he’s got a piece of himself back that he’s been missing, and he probably has realized that Foggy would want them to do this together and not apart. As Karen said (I don’t remember her exact words), Foggy believed in him. And now they need each other to get through this, and I think that’s beautiful. Can’t wait for the love triangle to continue though, with Frank definitely set to appear in Season 2, and how Marvel will deal with it. It’s going to be very interesting.
Also totally agree with the Kirsten part! She always tried to see everything from all sides and was trying to be a good and reasonable friend to Matt. Very compassionate. Very patient. Very honest. She was one of those new characters that I felt were actually good for Matt, and I hope we get to see more of her!
I think the overhaul was definitely necessary because you could tell, in the middle, the pacing felt a little off and it didn’t line up with some of the other parts of the show that were already part of the overhaul. You could tell there were several ideas and scenes stitched together, but bringing back some of the OGs to work on this really paid off in the last two episodes and if looked at as a whole, it works now because now it makes sense. Loose ends were tied up, and those that weren’t will be tied up on Season 2 because obviously they need us to be excited for that, too. The weekly release of the episodes kind of made it feel wrong at times, but I believe with a final rewatch it will feel much better. They all did a good job and I think they deserve some recognition for that.
Anyway, I love LOVE your reblogs of my thoughts!! And sorry for rambling, I just can’t get over this show 😭
