i don’t think either way dean is ashamed, whether sam is a guy or a girl. in my personal hc, dean feels like he’s owed something when it comes to sam, i mean he’s looked after the kid his entire life. i think the “wrongness” of deans attraction to sam devolves into excitement, he knows it’s wrong but in his deranged mind, it’s right, because he’s earned it. that stays the same in my mind regardless of sam’s gender.

saying that though, it would be easier to defend his actions towards girl!sam. i mean, sam’s a chick, deans attracted to chicks. it makes sense. yes sam is his sister but after she hit puberty he can’t help but be attracted to her, she’s hot. that’s not wrong to him
