coloured pencils tiiime with some ffxiv miscellany. started with the job stone as a warm up, then the chocobo, then went clockwise from there pretty much !
i just really like how these guys all turned out. i need to do more coloured pencil stuff

yes, but it's art I saw in a bar and the artist very kindly let me use it so I don't. know for sure.
obviously i'm not the original artist but corvid prince breb incoming with some Possible Insight (again, i'm not the original artist, so this is Pure Speculation do not take this as gospel)
it's definitely got more a raven-esque shape to the beak, as matt said - it's got that Raven Chonk to it, and much more of a curve to the top of it, rather than the slimmer/straighter profile of a crow
and it's trickier to see but it also seems to have the more wedge-like tail of a raven, rather than the fan shape of a crow
alas, we cannot see the throat to see if it has the beautiful raven beard. but in my professional corvid opinion the Signs Point To Raven over crow! :>

if you didn't know, the highlight of doing my annual warmup shows is commissioning @sketchfeathers to do a poster for it. the show is now sold out and everyone who comes along gets a poster, and any leftovers will go online shortly after the show 💜
and honestly the highlight of my art career is having matt say "i need a poster, as long as it features the strange creature you can do whatever you want" :')
fun fact for the tumblr crowd: i really like the idea that my first secret show poster, the chicago backdrop, and this poster are all a little trio in the strange creature and spooky deer saga - in my head i've been calling them awaken, arise, and ascend

so basically: i've closed my patreon for now, since i let it gather dust for Way too long due to ~life things~ getting on top of me
if i do re-open anything monthly like that it'll most likely be on kofi, to keep everything in one place, but i probably will just keep it as one-time tips rather than a monthly payment thing
i do deeply appreciate everyone who subscribed to it and helped to keep me afloat, but i just didn't do enough to maintain or promote it so it just feels more fair to all involved to close it out for now
there's a part of me who has hubris who wants to try drawing a pokemon every day until i get bored or i've drawn every pokemon (i will definitely get bored before i have drawn them all)
no rules other than just it has to be a different pokemon every day, no repeats. miiiight do it in dex order bc i think that'd also be fun, and they don't have to be good they just have to Exist.
i know it's like. the thing every artist attempts at some point. but i think it'd just be fun to have a little challenge to try and pokemon are fun to draw. also it'd be a fun little like improvement tracker/warmup exercise, i could keep any good ones for tattoo designs, and it'd be something to post every day to appease lord algo rithm (especially on instagram) - the last one is kind of the least of my worries but hey, tattoo artists gotta tattoo artist.
i don't think i'll last very long at it but i want to give it a try i think!

i am a golden retriever on all levels except physical so it seemed apt to try and do a lil fursona design based on one. a friend of mine once said it was the greatest crime of evolution that i don't have a tail to wag, and they were right :(
