I have always wondered whether someone on the writing staff hates Jared
The seminal storyline of Supernatural is always the relationship between Sam and Dean Winchester. Sam was the flawed hero but not to the point where you hated him. Sam’s flaws are what made Supernatural what it is. Sam’s arcs drove the story of Supernatural forward. Right until season 7. His flaws could be explained in canon. His defiance in the earlier season could be the product of him being infected with demon blood as a baby and that could be the reason why he imbibed demon blood. Losing Dean also messed him up terribly. Kudos to Jared Padalecki playing a mourning Sam so well. Soulless Sam wasn’t his fault at all. It was Castiel’s fault. He can’t be blamed for that.
The change came in season 8. Sera Gamble was the showrunner for season 6 and 7, and despite the fact that this fandom complains about everyone and everything, I think Sera did a very good job with the story for those two years despite the fact that Kripke had ended his tenure, in a very awkward place Despite having a soft spot for Sam, she gave both brothers equal billing in the story. However, Bob Singer meddled in her work, overriding her rules. The one thing I think she was trying to do was get rid of Castiel, because his Q score was horrific. She even managed it, but apparently Bob Singer overrode her decision and brought him back. He interfered so much that at the end of season 7, she resigned. Singer got his wife, Eugenie Ross-Leming and her writing partner, Brad Bucker, on the writing team in season 7. At that point, Eugenie didn’t have power. In season 8 she became a consulting producer [in other words, she had power], then in season 9 she became co-executive producer and in season 12 she became executive producer. So many yearly promotions? Talk about nepotism.
As soon as Eugenie had power in her hands, the writers started to write Sam in such a hateful manner that it baffled me. Complete character assassination. The first thing was Purgatory in season 8. Sam didn’t bother looking for Dean in Purgatory and switched off his phone so this child who needed him was completely stranded and at risk. That is not Sam. Interestingly, they put all of these criticisms in Dean’s mouth. Its like they were trying to make us hate Sam. The aftermath of Gadreel’s storyline was the worst. Sam berates Dean for allowing Gadreel to possess Sam. Dean says that “You were dying. If you were in my place, you would have done the same thing.’‘ to which Sam very coldly and flippantly says ’'no I would not”.
For a split second, my anger skyrocketed. That little ingrate! After everything his brother did for him! When I calmed down and actually thought rationally, I realized that something is afoot. First, someone is trying to destroy Sam’s popularity. Then they are saddling him with a girlfriend. Then she left because of fan disapproval, and they saddled him with another deaf mute girl to ratchet up the sympathy levels. That didn’t make sense for Sam. Sam would never do that, because the last girl he loved, incinerated on the ceiling. It is selfish to bring these girls into his life. That didn’t work and eventually I think Jared got to them. Because Sam backtracks spectacularly a few episodes later because when Dean asked Sam why Sam isn’t just letting him die, Sam says “I didn’t mean it.’' That line is deux ex machina and gives me the impression that Jared picked up the phone and tore the writing team apart.
Jack is Sammy’s little miracle. The minute the boy was born, he latched onto Sam. This is the first character [other than Dean] that Sam has any natural chemistry with. And throughout Jack’s story thus far, Sam has been significant. Not Dean. Not Cas. Just Sam. This, according to Alex Calvert himself, and fans who watch the show with no agenda. Jack did for Sam, what Sam did for Dean. Dean is a character that is very easy for some people to hate [please understand that I am not speaking for everyone, just some of the viewers]. He is an arrogant, rude fornicator who is selfish if you think about it. His relationship and dedication to Sam is what softens him up and makes him likeable. Sam is, as aforementioned, a flawed hero. Everything that Sam did in previous seasons [that angered us], washed away when we watched him grow to care for this boy. Sam was so gentle and nurturing and caring to Jack, that it put a smile on everyone’s face and we became enamored with this beautiful relationship.
Slowly that is starting to get erased. Dean is bonding with Jack, which I didn’t mind. But it was at the expense of elbowing Sam out of the way. I took great offense to the fact that when Jack came back to life, Dean hugged the boy and Sam didn’t. Why? It makes no sense. Your child comes back from the dead and you pat his shoulder. Nope! Some person in the creative team hates Jared. And I think that person is Bob Singer. From season 12 onwards, Singer has been a co-showrunner, sharing the task with Andrew Dabb. This guy is such a weasel that he always uses Dabb as his front man and never steps forward to claim responsibility for the train wreck that Supernatural is becoming. So everybody hates Dabb but only the smart ones point a finger at Singer. The reason Castiel is still on the show, we have the stupid spin off and the brother’s importance is diminishing is because of this nasty man.
I wish Jensen and Jared will open their eyes, and realize that this show is their baby. They need to clean house and get rid of a lot of leeches. Heck, bring Sera Gamble back. Bring back Ben Edlund who left the minute Eugenie got promoted. Coincidence? Seems unlikely. So many of the nice writers are gone and Bob Singer is holding the reins of Supernatural, letting Misha Collins run amok and making the Winchester boys [as well as the actors that play them], second class citizens on their own show.

NOT BOBBLE
For any fan of Misha to believe what he supposedly said in today's panel about taking a prank too far, they must either be new to the fandom, or have absolutely no memory of these stories before.
Let's be honest, the fans who think Misha's telling the truth "this time" absolutely know it's not true and are using this new story to persecute Jared, once again.
For those who haven't seen, here are the tweet reports from Misha's panel. Obviously, video will provide proof, but there are enough details to get the gist and these aren't the standard Misha-fan con reporters that like to lie about or twist what was said.
So, the original story about Jared taking a picture was told by Misha on the Inside of You podcast (see below). There was no zero gravity dive. Misha simply forgot to lock the bathroom door. Jared took a picture of him on the toilet, not naked and with no urine in sight. And yes, in retaliation, Misha flushed Jared's phone... the one that had the only pictures of his son, Shep's birth.
As for the getting knocked around, being covered in urine, etc. That comes from a trip Misha took with Rich, Rob, and Matt down to Australia for a convention. Misha tells the story here:
Matt, Rob and Rich have all corroborated that story here and here. It's actually a pretty funny story on it's own.
So, Misha put together some mash up of these two stories, making him the victim (once again) of a dangerous stunt supposedly perpetrated by Jared (which no pilot would ever agree, especially without all passengers belted).
If you haven't caught on by now, Misha lies. And he lies for a purpose. Most often, it's to engender sympathy from his fans so they'll continue to see him as poor, picked-on Misha who can related to them because they are also the 'outcasts' in their world. And if he can relate to them, then they'll continue to give him their money.
You may also wonder why Misha frequently references Jared as being the one to prank him (and often, the only one). One, because he needs Jensen as the other half of the Destiel pairing, which is another way to keep his fans dropping money in the coffers. And two... jealousy. From past stories and behavior, it's obvious Misha's jealous that Jared is as successful as he is, someone who never went to college but has worked steadily for over 24 years in an industry rife with unemployment. Misha likes to say things that imply Jared's only gotten by on his looks and not any kind of talent, but we know that's simply not the case. Actor's aren't employed for that long and that consistent on their looks alone. Talent and hard work are also needed, two traits which Misha obviously doesn't have, so he resorts to stringing along his dwindling fanbase with any story he can, regardless of it's veracity or whom it may hurt in the process.
Finally, Misha knows exactly who his fans are and how his fanbase takes the things he's said, so if he's ever called out and says he was joking and that people misinterpreted what he said, he's lying. And I'd say that lying was the only thing he was good at if it weren't so easy to debunk the lies.
SPN Positivity Challenge Theme: Hope
Sam Winchester holds on to hope even though he has no reason to believe. He holds the hope for everybody when they’ve given up hope and their faith. After everything Sam’s been through, after everything he’s done and seen, incredibly he still has hope. Sam keeps going strong even though he’s hurt, scared, and tired because he still sees a light at the end of the tunnel. It’s amazing that someone like him who has seen so many horrible things and suffered horrendously that he is still able to see a light, and still have hope that someday both he and his brother will be at that light.
Season 5 was the the finest example of Sam’s hope. Dean, Bobby, and Cas lost faith and are just waiting for the end in some way. Sam still believed in what they could stop the End of Days, he didn’t believe that because he thought he could stop it. He believed in his family, that they could stop it. Sam was the only one left that has hope when Dean starts to believe that the only the only way to save people is to say yes to Michael. But Sam is still there and pulled Dean along and show him there’s still hope. This is something that has come to define Sam. Even when he threw himself into Hell for eternity to stop Lucifer and Michael from destroying the world, he has hope that Dean can have a happy life without him. Because Sam thinks for others rather than himself, putting others’ needs before his own. He may be deeply broken inside, but he hides it, because he doesn’t want anyone worrying about him, because he doesn’t find himself important. Although he should. He fights on even when everyone has given up or it seems hopeless.
No matter how many times Sam’s been beaten down and told he was a freak, a monster, and an abomination, he has always had hope. Some part of him has always had it and it is a true testament to who he truly is at the end of the day.
Fire Country's getting some streaming love ahead of season 3!
I am not delusional enough to think that this is coz of my guy but it is hell of a coincidence….glad that he is about to join such a successful franchise.
Just FYI, Jared has a lot for more fans than people realize and that’s coz they aren’t as loud as the hellers.
One thing about Sam Winchester that actually breaks my heart is the fact that he actively acknowledges that something is 'wrong with him' (either he's angry or riddled with guilt ) and asks for help and support, but nobody around him gives him it. He's trying to get better, trying to 'change', to understand his emotions more, but even Dean tells him to just bottle it up and push it down. Nobody gives him any support, and it's so damn sad because he deserves better.
The way the show constantly paints Sam as in the wrong is my villain origin story. Like when Bobby told Dean how proud he was for getting out of the hunting life in season 6 but berating Sam for the same thing in season 8. The double standard in the show is so loud, you can hear it from space!
