It is OKAY to have content preferences and to be uncomfortable with certain ships or topics, controversial or not. It is OKAY to distance yourself from such content and block certain tags or creators.
It is NOT OKAY to actively hate and harass real people for creating content of fictional characters that features things that make you uncomfortable.
Something went really wrong with me trying to respond to an ask based on this post and then my phone combusted so I hope the anon that sent the ask sees this. Apparently you can't reply to a same ask twice.
The idea of my post was that the issue can be solved by blocking tags and creators that make you uncomfortable. It's totally fine to take steps to create an environment that is comfortable for you and doesn't trigger you in any way. Logically, this can not be done without a proper tagging habit. To be able to filter your feed you would need for others to tag their work correctly. It is a creator's responsibility to tag things correctly and it's a viewers responsibility to create a safe environment for themselves and engage with those tags.
That's what "Dead dove: do not eat" was created for. To warn people that the tags attached to a post or fanfic are real and serious because sometimes people don't take them serious. If a work is tagged correctly, and you still read it knowing it will trigger you, you're the one to blame.
About things that harm or do not harm people and your take on racist memes and lolicon. Lolicon is different from racism in the ways it is problematic. Racism is discrimination that includes hateful messages and hateful content, aimed at a specific group of people. It may harm a person's emotions. Lolicon, as controversial as it is, doesn't harm anyone's feelings or emotions, despite depicting a harmful act. It's not hateful in it's nature so I wouldn't say you can compare the two.
By the way, even racist memes aren't as one-dimensional as they might seem. Just like slurs can be used by the people who they are aimed at, hateful memes can be created by people who they are concerning. As a Jew with a dark sense of humor I constantly make jokes about Jewish stereotypes and as rough as they are they help me deal with real antisemitism that I face sometimes.
I hope the person who sent the original ask somehow sees this because I am always open to discourse (and their ask was very respectful and polite which I greatly appreciate).
Actually idk about international but Russian Tolkien Fandom is the best and most wholesome Fandom I've ever been in and I've been there for 11 years

When I was young, I never knew why different races of LOTR gave me so much comfort. Never knew why I liked lean, elegant long-haired men of the elves. Never knew why I liked short un-bearded men of the hobbits. Never knew why I liked muscular bearded women of the dwarves.
Turns out I'm just transgender as fuck.
I don’t have polls yet myself so imagine this poll
The thing about trans headcanons is that I always forget that that's a headcanon and get mad over a character being misgendered in canon.
I can't count the amount of times I got mad at Haikyuu characters for "forgetting" that Asahi is a trans woman before remembering that it's just my headcanon. I'm hopeless.
Tried posca markers for the first time today. They're expensive so I picked only five colors and challenged myself to draw a character with them. Decided, who else to draw than my favorite crusty dusty e-boy?
I'm trying to push myself out of my comfort zone while also fighting art block. As a hard-core watercolors lover I'm not used to such high coverage mediums but I had fun with just five markers and a liner! Tried to line as little as possible, again pushing myself to a limit. I might play with poscas more, they seem to be perfect for cartoon and anime art.
Oh, and picking a canvas was definitely the right decision, those markers are STURDY. I don't think even my Archie's or Canson would have withstood.
Why do you use tumbrl as your main social media? Is not a bit outdated and filled with weird ppl?
Very much so! It's definitely outdated and filled with weird people. But I'm afraid it has some downsides as well.
Haha imagine having choice in international social media platforms that you can use
