No, but imagine if Siuan survived and Moiraine died, and Siuan not letting the post-stilling depression take her because dammit, she made a promise to Moiraine and now that she's gone, you can be damn sure she will fullfil it. And since she would no longer be the Amyrlin Seat, she would train the new Amyrlin, who understands their cause and will also be the best Amyrlin the Tower has ever seen, and then, near the end of the show, maybe season 7, she looks at Egwene being amazing and Rand being epiphanied and thinks she made her love proud, she thinks 'We did it, my love', and then BAM! That stupid boy from Two Rivers who blew the Horn suddenly comes to her and says 'wanna go on an adventure to save your girlfriend from the foxes'

I don't see anything "heroic" about being tortured and unnecessarily brutally murdered only to serve as grief for another character

but maybe it's just me.

I don't understand how so many elements of a single episode of television could be so wonderful and perfect and then they could just casually throw an unforgivable choice in there alongside them.

I'm legitimately really upset.

I can extrapolate narrative effects from this choice, but Siuan's death (and the level of brutality with which it was accomplished) is the very first time I don't believe the narrative ends justify the means.

Rafe and his team have fixed so many things, so why did they have to choose to make THIS one worse?

I know that Min and Rand are a thing in the books but I think in tv show would be really cool if she was aroace and to be honest? I think is pretty possible actually, since up until now they're not compatible at all and she hasn't show romantic or sexual interest for anyone, literally

I also love the ideia of aroace and bisexual bestfriendism between Min and Mat

I think is amazing how most of the book readers of wot (mainly on twitter) talk shit about the tv show that is so ????? Like, I understand some of the criticism and it's totally valid but you also have to remember:

  1. They only have eight episodes to tell the story and with a pretty big cast of characters, they're doing a great job with the tools they have.
  2. Wot doesn't have a big budget, not for a fantasy tv show at least. The first two seasons together costed less than the first season of Rings of Power.
  3. What is the point of an adaptation is if going to be the exact same as the source material? TV and books are very different mediums, some things just don't translate from one another, besides, the books were written in the 90's and 00's, some things need to be updated and like I said before: The Wheel of Time tv and The Wheel of Time books are different entities and they're both good in their own ways. The show can make the narratives better if you're open minded to it or bring a new perpective to them. Of course they shouldn't change major plot points unless it's completely necessary, which, correct if I'm wrong, it's not a problem here.

I see so much gratuitous hate towards wot and it genuinely annoys me, how some people are uncapable to enjoy new text or understand new text.

People who insist they need to read the books before watching the wheel of time, I am holding your hand. Listen to me. That’s the dark one speaking.

Pleaaaaaaase just watch the show first Trust Me you will likely have a much better time, you can read the books later when you’re really invested and you’ll get more out of them when you can pick up on the early foreshadowing.

I adore these books, but the show is a much better and more accessible point of entry for most people new to the story. Even if just for ease of watching 8 episode seasons instead of reading 800 page bricks. Also the show’s gayer and has more early focus on and development of the main female characters.

also also, and this is key, I need more people to watch the show as soon as possible so it gets renewed for the five more planned seasons k thx bye

Tumblr Tuesday: The Wheel Weaves as The Wheel Wills

The Wheel of Time has two episodes left, and emotions are running as high as the White Tower of Tar Valon. This one is all about the gals, their pals, and their lovers—if the fanart you're churning out at frankly alarming rates is anything to go by. Jk, we love it, please never stop. Here's a small collection of beautiful fanart for you while you bit-chompingly await the next episode.

Please be mindful of some mild spoilers (if you squint) ahead!
