summary: you're 8 months pregnant and billy couldnt be happier. but even though he's excited for your little ball of sunshine to finally make his appearance, he's got some concerns.

warnings: neil hargrove, mentions of past abuse, mentions of child abuse, billy has abandonment issues and nightmares, some swearing, insecurity from both reader and billy hurt/comfort, lots of fluff (of course)

A/N: i think billy would be so worried about being a dad when you have your first kid. he doesn't want to end up like neil, and he doesn't want you to have to leave like his mother did :(

Thinking about baby billys first time going out into the waves on his little boogie board or something and getting knocked down by a wave and it freaking him out and him crying to his mama about it being scary but she just shushes him and tells him it’s okay to be scared but sometimes you gotta get knocked down a few times to learn, to get comfortable with the threat of failure or making mistakes and in the end it’ll just make him better, but if he doesn’t want to go back out she won’t make him. And billy takes a breather, dries his tears and decides he wants to go back out and try again. And his mamas cheering him on right beside him until billy gets the hang of it and is venturing a little farther away from her, and over time he levels up to an actual surf board and he’s riding waves and he loves being in the ocean so much and knowing his mamas always there to watch him and encourage him and it really is his happiest place 🤧
