Hello everyone! Welcome to my always SFW blog with fun stories that try to leave a smile on your face! Just realized that the reason I love making friends on tumblr is because it’s exactly how you make friends on the playground as a six year old. No, I don’t know their name but they love mermaids too and built this awesome sand castle. No, I don’t know their age but their imaginary cheetah is friends with mine. You like this show? You like this character?? You can sing the theme song really loud??? Here is a flower crown. Here is a juice box. You can share my time and I might never see you again but part of you stays in my soul forever. In my mind we’re still on the swing set and the sky is blue and nothing will ever be wrong again.

Sunstone (me) is hyperfixating on another 70s show 😭

Okay, HEAR ME OUT

First it was CHiPS, now it's Emergency (1972). (Blame my mom, she thought it would be a good idea to show me this and now it's our new family show we put on whenever, Lol.)

This show is about firefighter paramedics Roy DeSoto (far left) and John / Johnny Gage (next to Roy on the right) from Squad 51. The show is considered a drama but it also has that comedic charm from the 70s to combat the more serious moments. Roy and Johnny are friends and partners, so of course some shenanigans and silliness occur between the two to also lighten the mood.

They're so cute though 😭 Every time one of them gets hurt or when one of them is in unexpected danger, they want to make sure the other is okay (which, is their job, but the way they do it when it comes to each other shows how they care for each other). There was one time when Roy got pushed back by a metal door and an explosion, and when Johnny helped him out of the rubble, he immediately guided him to the truck and checked out his injuries, despite Roy trying to say that he was fine. (I know this is such a small moment, but it still lingers in my brain because I thought it was sweet 😭)

Also, I saw some bloopers of the show and all of them looked like they had fun on set together.

Ngl, I've never had the urge to actually write a fic for a "live action" show more so than this. Because I have IDEAS. Exhibit A (time to be ✨embarrassing✨)

(For context, Rampart is the hospital Roy and Johnny contact when they're treating a victim on the scene)

*At the fire station, Johnny and Roy got into some silly argument. Roy tries to prove his point, and Johnny ends up on the couch.*

Roy: Rampart, this is 51. We have a severe case of ticklish ribs here. Victim is laughing uncontrollably.

Johnny: Yohohohou're gohohoing to break my ribs ahahahat this rahahahate!

Roy: Nah, I would have to apply a lot more pressure for that to happen. A little pressure isn't going to hurt ya.

Captain: (Watching it play out and acting like he's Rampart) 51, this is Rampart. Apply slight pressure and observe any change in behavior.

Roy: (smirking) Ten-four , Rampart.

Johnny: Rohohohoy! Don't you dar-AHAHARE!

DO YOU SEE THE VISION?

Anywayyyys, the show is actually pretty entertaining. Unlike CHiPS, where I was more so watching to laugh at the outdated-ness, Emergency actually captures my interest.

Okie, time to go hide in a corner now about writing tickle thoughts about a 70s show 🫡

“No thanks.” Red waved it off, leaving Blue gaping. “Cool line, though.”

“What-you can’t- why-RED!” The taller boy sputtered out, brows raised and cheeks slightly tinged pink. “You can’t go and reject me like that! What happened to all our past battles? Do they mean nothing to you?”

“Those are then, and this is today. It’s not meaningless. I simply don’t want to fight today.” Red shrugged, walking up to Blue and patting his arm. “If you’d like to hang out, however- we can do that.”

“...Tch, fine. I suppose it’s the next best thing.” He sounded grumpy, but Red could see the way he perked up. Ever so dishonest about his feelings. “What do you want to do today?”

“Wanna see a movie?”
