There's something about the Kirby plush in the background that really sells this

Time to see how committed republicans really are to gun rights.

We already have an answer from the last time a story like this circulated a couple years ago, conservatives like Tucker Carlson floated the idea of gun control, but only for trans people.

The Mulford Act of 1967 was a California gun control law signed by Ronald Reagan and supported by the NRA in response to the Black Panther Party rightfully arming themselves against police violence

When these people talk about the right to bear arms, they're leaving out the part where they believe it's a right only for certain people and only to be used against certain other people.

the thing that always gets me ESPECIALLY about autistic representation in media is that we are universally portrayed as happy-go-lucky, whimsical children, completely oblivious to the fact that the world constantly judges and scorns and HATES us.

We notice. I noticed. The reason I am as messed up as I am today is because i spent 20 LONG years in an environment where every day i was subjected to that. To noticing.

what an absolutely neurotypical view of us. Coddling themselves, getting to act like the way they treat us is fine because we don't understand that our peers dont respect us. Why would we? We're so subhuman to them, it's like asking if your cat notices you playfully insulting it.

Every autistic person I've ever met is on some level bitter and angry and TRAUMATIZED at their upbringing. Of having to go through school as the laughing stock, as the weirdo with no friends who no one wants to talk to, as the animal in the corner you can make do cheap tricks so they can experience some Simulacra of what genuine human connection is.

Now tell me, does it sound like I didn't notice?

"An old professor of mine had this great thing. He said "On the level of individuals and civilization, personality predates ideology." Meaning that before you were a fascist, you were a bully and an asshole." -Brennan Lee Mulligan in conversation with Amy Vorpahl, Adventuring Academy S1E2

Sorry if someone's asked this recently, but are there any fics you've been looking at lately that you'd recommend? Or ones you plan to read but haven't had the time to yet?

YES OUGHH,,, So many of my friends are INCREDIBLE writers; I tend to find fics I like and reread them often because I'm insane and read very fast, so I go through a lot of content, not much I haven't read yet in terms of my TBR list

Here's just a few (Some are 18+ jsyk)

Actually, no, pretty much everything Lady writes. IS. BREATHTAKING.

If there is one longer fanfic series you have the time to read, I suggest this one. Her series rewrite takes canon and polishes it to perfection ok? ok go read it

I think people mean well when they insist that America isn't a Christian country but it just obfuscates the situation and makes it more difficult for minorities to frame their experiences. America is a fundamentally, structurally, ideologically Christian country from top to bottom. It's exhausting, it's suffocating, and it's the truth. Nearly all political forces, pop culture phenomena, and major life philosophies here are either built on Christianity or propped up as subverting Christianity in a way that is, of course, still entirely about Christianity. Leftwing movements here that are ostensibly hostile to Christianity still ultimately structure their worldviews around their own versions of salvation, rapture, original sin, eternal judgement, heaven, and hell. Most people here fail to see Christianity all around them, influencing every facet of American life, for the same reason that a fish can't see water.
