"galinda is gay for elphaba" i say into the mic. the munchkins boo. i begin to walk off in shame as a voice speaks and commands silence from the room. "she's right" they say. i look for the owner of the voice. there she stands. its ariana grande.

Fiyero: Can you come collect your freak of a wife please? She’s doing things.
Elphaba: No, I set Glinda loose on purpose. She needs enrichment.

listen you may understand what chappell is singing about in good luck babe, but then, again have you ever drove home in the passenger seat on a hot sunny day with the windows down, with your crush who you’ve been yearning for forever sings it at the top of her lungs with you as you try not to look at her too long? While you know she’s into women but yet is seeing a man and can’t seem to decide if she wants to give you all the attention or none at all? No?

Cause I do, and that memory is permanently imprinted in my mind every time I hear the song.

i don’t think anyone talks enough about how romantic the dance scene between elphaba and glinda really was. it’s such a pivotal moment for both of them, but especially glinda. in some ways i believe this is the moment she goes from galinda to glinda— this is the moment she begins to drop the mean girl façade and not try to force herself to see past elphaba’s differences, but face them head on and love and accept them.

she leaves behind fiyero, her friends, her judgements, inhibitions, and shame; everything that had been defining her as a character up until that moment. when glinda whispers to fiyero, “she does, she’s just good at pretending not to,” after he says elphaba doesn’t care what others think, that’s because she’s pretending too. when they dance, they become mirror images of one another. glinda copies her movements, lets elphaba guide her, and it’s their shared vulnerability that guides the crowd behind them.

and yet, it’s the first moment neither of them truly care about people’s judgements, their own perceived reputations, or anything but each other. in that moment, the crowd disappears, and all that’s left is elphaba and glinda, closer and more intimate than either of them have ever been with anyone. in my mind, that’s the moment they really fell in love

me during wandavision: wow they really just tease us with having agnes flirt with wanda and for what reason??

me during agatha all along: oh she’s just gay, that’s the reason

you come on to MY POST and dare to be funnier than me!?
