Novel Law translations info

If youโ€™re looking for my Novel Law posts, theyโ€™re all tagged as โ€œtacky reads law novelโ€

There is no official English release. When the story was first serialized in One Piece Magazine, a fan translated chapters 1 to 3, but they took the translations down because they kept getting stolen. Chapters 1 to 4 plus an exclusive epilogue were released in book format in Japan in 2020, and thatโ€™s what I liveblogged. I have never read the fan translation and I have the physical book, so I donโ€™t know where to download any of it.

Iโ€™ve seen someone uploaded what appears to be a Spanish fan translation of the English fan translation to Wattpad, but itโ€™s content stolen twice over and reposted for clout, so Iโ€™m not going to link to it. Chapters 4 and the epilogue are missing, since itโ€™s all based on the work of the original Japanese to English translator.

Edit 3: A fan is working on a Portuguese translation here: https://www.facebook.com/Renata-Rayleigh-223769802925286/ Chapters 1 to 3 are translated from the Spanish fan translation, and chapter 4 and the epilogue are based off of the official French edition.

Edit 4: A Spanish edition of Novel Law has been released by Planeta Cรณmic as of May 24th 2023.

Edit 5: There is another English fan translation doing the rounds, which apparently got posted twice to AO3. Please don't do that. It's currently hosted in a google drive. Here's the tumblr post. I've done a quick check and it seems to be a translation of chapters 1 to 4, though they've been divided into smaller chunks. It doesn't include the epilogue. If you read this translation, all that op asks is that you click the button here to help fundraise for Palestine. All proceeds go to UNRWA.

from my sources adjacent to tumblr--from which i can spread rumors and insider information freely because i dont give a fuck about ever working in the tech sector--im hearing this round of firings was focused on purging the senior staff, and not just from support but from the entire remaining tumblr workforce. i'm hearing there are about 25 people left.

While I don't think that Tumblr is about to shut down anytime soon, as a fandom old who lost my community and my people when the fandom diaspora happened from LiveJournal, I want to urge that you do something NOW:

  • Get your backup account(s) elsewhere NOW
  • Let your moots know your username(s) at those places NOW
  • Follow your moots at their places NOW

I mean this with all my heart. Get this done now. Get set up and find your people now. Tumblr is the home of fandom now, just as LiveJournal was the home of fandom way back. And you could end up losing your fandom home just as easily and quickly as us old LJ people did way back then.

It's a horrible feeling, and most old LJ users still mourn the loss of it to this day.

i made a character sheet. free to use as you wish, feel free to change whatever you want XD open source ass thing. spent all of ~maybe an hour on it.

Credit: the text in the insert-image box comes from this video, and the text for the top three lines (intense, complex, fruity) comes from this post. The actual image was made with the free NBOS character sheet creator, which is a sort of dated but free and solid text-layout sheet maker intended for ttrpg style character sheet creation.

this is GENUINELY one of the best character development sheets I've ever seen. Cuts right to the core of what you and your readers will glom onto, doesn't waste time on details that don't directly affect the narrative. Stupendous. Effervescent. Finally, some good fucking food

Good news: The cat seems to be doing well.

Bad news: He has a broken scapula and I cannot drop that kind of money on something that isn't a life or death situation. Also, the vet I had to bring him to is part of a big chain of clinics and doesn't seem like a trustworthy place (amongst other things, they took 2 x-rays because they fucked up the first one, didn't tell me about the second, and billed me for both). Over 1/3 of my salary is gone on a cat I just picked up from the street and the only help they have extended is that's so unlucky :( we could also do these other treatments for the cat (please give us the rest of your bank account).

Other good news: I've found another vet nearby that a friend and a former worker of a shelter have heavily recommended to me so I can have a second opinion on what to do.

My parents have told me that we're keeping the cat. His name is Watson because his shoulder/leg got fucked up in the war.

I think that banning porn has made this website more sexual over time, actually. When people had that porn outlet you could mostly just post in peace but now canโ€™t mention any random thing without people relating it back to their horniness. Itโ€™s gotten worse, I tell you. I was here before the porn ban. Occasionally accidentally coming across a sex gif was the price we paid for mostly keeping on topic.

in light of the fact that tumblr has bunglr'd and forgot its own dedication to the bit on april fools i declare a bit war. the person who comes up with the silliest bit to make into our own goddamn april fools gimmick gets to be the bit monarch for the whole of 2025. even if they don't want to be. go.
