Fandom Old (35, F) Willow, LOTR, POTC, Star Wars, MCU

as i grow older and age in fandom especially, i have waning patience for 2012 style fandom wars. i don't have time for the type of person who goes "why is this the 2nd top ship on ao3 when it bugs me", i don't have the energy to be friends with people who go "i specifically expressed dislike for this ship and people still write it?" and i have absolutely no time for someone who goes "this very personal trauma i have projected onto this random character and ship should be recognized and agreed by everyone else, otherwise they're bad people"

reblog if you wear glasses. too many mutuals don't know they have glasses wearers in their midsts

my friend's shiba inu is extremely good at puzzle toys and deeply obsessed with them and today she's been consumed by madness in one room she doesn't want to leave and we finally figured out it's because i sucked up some loose kibble in the little handheld vacuum, thus creating an unsolvable puzzle toy

here's the thing about the fucking tariffs. besides Unfairly Punishing Our FUCKING ALLIES YOU MORON- okay okay. anyway. the other thing

the other thing is that we have no manufacturing here

most of the fabric I buy to make my clothes is made overseas. I would actually love to buy wool from a local, unionized woolen mill! I'd be pleased as punch to do that! it's better for the environment and creates good local jobs that don't have a barrier of entry re: college degrees, which we need more of!

except we don't have any more fucking woolen mills because your billionaire ilk outsourced all of them to avoid union rules, OSHA, and paying minimum wage, when those things became commonplace and/or law. you orange fuckface

"buy American instead!!!" okay FROM FUCKING WHERE. we don't MAKE shit here anymore. and the few remaining local producers have been forced to charge exorbitant prices because they're competing with cheap unethical labor practices from big companies, so most people can't afford to buy local

god it's all so fucking stupid and I have to suffer for other people's idiocy that I actively tried to prevent

Tumblr going down is.... not a possibility I know how to reckon with. For better or worse, this site has been my home for fourteen years. Rebuilding that same audience on another site sounds.... near impossible. And my style of posting doesn't really work on any other site. Not to mention my streams... Without my Tumblr audience, will I even survive?... It's a chilling thought.

I just have to hope it doesn't go down, I suppose.
