Mochi needs $$$ for Vet Bills

Hey everyone!! Mochi went to the vet at the right time- Before his oversized bladder could do anything worse. Our boy is home and sleeping it off, but while his body will heal on its own, our bank account... Well...

Any little amount helps, we're all mostly unemployed and living off pennies. Thank you so much to all our donators so far, I'm truly moved by your kindness and compassion. Please spread the word for us!

EDIT: mochi is back at the vet with ANOTHER $1000+ bill. Any bit- Any at all is SUPER appreciated to help us make back that loss while we look for work.

For those of you not on my other socials: there's a wonderful comedian, Erin Hattamer, who is pairing other online creators with families who have been vetted by Operation Olive Branch trying to get evacuated from Gaza. As you hopefully know from the news, there is no certainty of ceasefire and bombing continues in Rafah, the last place citizens of Palestine were told they could take refuge.

I have been paired with Dr. Moath Abu Samra - a doctor who was working in Gaza until he was evacuated last month. His parents and two younger brothers are still in Gaza and hopeful of evacuation, but the fees to cross into Egypt are high. Anything you can donate to help this family is appreciated. And if you can't donate, that's ok! Please just like and reblog!

You can read more about his whole family on the GoFundMe, but here's just a little bit about Dr. Samra:

My name is Moath Abu Samra. I am 24 years old. I work as a doctor but I lost my job because of the war on Gaza. I escaped death four times due to the Israeli bombing in the Gaza strip. I have beautiful dreams but they have not yet come true. I want to live in peace and security, away from destruction and devastation. I want to get out of Gaza. I don't want to die without achieving my dreams and hopes. All my friends died because of the bombing. I want to leave but the costs of leaving and traveling from Gaza are high, so I am asking for your help. Please contribute whatever you can to help save our lives.

Please do donate to Sudan initiatives. The news we hear from Sudan is absolutely terrible. Even if you can't donate, share it anywhere you think might get people to donate. Share it on ig, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, whatever. Just please do share and if you can spare a few dollars once and a while....

this post hasn't left my mind since i've first saw it

people jest but this is literally how i worked out i was gaslit for like 15 years of my life

People who “want trauma” are recognizing, on some level, that they were traumatized but in a way that’s not “socially recognized” as trauma. What they really want is for people to see that they’ve been traumatized and be on their side

I think it’s also important to talk about mental illness, and how the pain and trauma of being mentally ill as a kid is often diminished because of the lack of outside actors. If you spent your childhood being suicidally depressed because your wee little kiddo brain decided to be a chemical shitshow, it doesn’t matter how much mom and dad loved you, that kinda thing fucks you up. And having people only look at your external surroundings and argue that “nothing bad happened” ignores all the pain you went through internally. So wishing you could have something external you could point to in order to justify that pain and enduring stress -- just so people could understand -- makes sense.

It's not so much "I wish I had been traumatized" as "I wish I had a name, an event, an explanation for my trauma that other people would understand and accept."

Maids, cleaners, janitors, and sanitation workers are all the most important people of civilization by far. Even 12 hours without them is VERY noticable and they simply need to be highly compensated for it

'Six AM', 1930 - William Wolfson

Hi, I'm a janitor. The facility I work in had its first floor flooded with sewage and while a restoration company came and sucked up all the water and placed fans everywhere to try the place out, I still cleaned the entire floor and threw away all the contaminated furniture. Same thing happened last year, but only a couple of rooms flooded on that floor and it was only water from a sprinkler system. This year was so much worse and I feel like no one in management gives a shit. The entire upstairs was absolutely going to shit because I was focused on the downstairs. Despite the work I do, I have to beg folks to spread around my little bear commission posts every month because I simply can't afford to live on what I'm paid lol

So, truly thanks to everyone who makes and shares posts like these recognizing sanitation workers. It's really a thankless job.

STOP no more live-action remakes. We're going the other way now. Animated Casablanca. Animated The Godfather. Animated Oppenheimer. Animated Fight Club.

Remember the 6 year old girl who was surrounded by Israeli tanks and the red crescent couldn't reach her? Her name is Hind Hamadeh. Here you can hear the phone call her 15 year old sister, Layan Hamadeh, made with the medics. She was killed exactly a moment later including all people in the car, except for 6 year old Hind who was stuck in the car with the dead bodies of her family, Israeli tanks and IDF surrounding her, shooting, preventing anybody to reach her.

That was last night (29.1.24). Today, still nothing. The fate of Hind remains unknown.

palestine red crescent ambulance team went to rescue her yesterday evening, but they have not returned as of now. We lost contact with them about 18 hours ago, and we still remain unaware of their fate and whether they succeeded in evacuating her or not.

Please, share Hind's story as much as you can on any platform. We need to know what happened to her. Put yourself in her place, how terrified she must be. Don't scroll past this.

This is Hind.

More than 30 hours. Where is Hind? And what happened to the ambulance team who went to rescue her?

They waited til the ambulance was in view of the car Hind was in, then they destroyed it.

TEL AVIV — For days, Hind Rajab’s mother had held on to hope that her six-year-old daughter was still alive — but on Saturday, she was clinging to all she had left of her child: A notebook, a pencil and a paper crown.

Twelve days after she went missing, Hind was found killed — her body still lying in the car from which she’d made a desperate plea for help while trapped under Israeli fire. “This is the most difficult feeling, to lose your daughter,” Hind’s mother, Wissam Hamadah, told NBC News’ crew on the ground in Gaza. “This occupation did not have mercy on her.” Just meters away from the battered and bullet-ridden vehicle, first responders and members of Hind’s own family also found a burned-out ambulance with the remains of the two first responders who tried to save her, the Palestine Red Crescent Society told NBC News. “They killed her twice,” Hamadah said. “And killed the paramedics that were trying to save her.” Hamada showed NBC News’ crew the possessions she said Hind had treasured before she was killed. “This is her weapon, a crown that she was wearing,” she said.
