I am Najah Al-Haila from Gaza.

I never imagined I would find myself in a situation that would require me to write these words, but life has taken an unexpected and devastating turn. My family, consisting of my beloved husband and our four children - two daughters and two sons - is facing a crisis that we cannot overcome alone.

Our home, once filled with love and laughter, has been shattered. The roof over our heads, the walls that protected us, and the place where our children grew up are lost. We lost not only our home, but the foundations of our lives. Now, we struggle every day to survive, with nowhere to go or a way to rebuild without help.

Our children, who should be focused on school and their dreams, worry instead about where they will sleep or when their next meal will be. The weight of their fear and confusion breaks my heart. As parents, we feel helpless and unable to provide basic necessities for our loved ones.

We are urgently asking for help because we cannot do this alone. We need to rebuild not only our home, but our lives. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly to providing our children with a safe place to sleep, food to eat, and a chance to dream again. I think we need more of this energy in the world. If someone is openly bragging about hurting people (eg, replacing overworked people with a machine that steals those people's work), then smash that shit up.

I've talked about this before but I wish so desperately that there was more accessible criticism and discussion of cults and anti-science rhetoric (vaccines are evil, meditation cures cancer, homeopathy, etc) coming from people other than ex-fundamentalist Christians. Like so many podcasts and youtube series start out okay and then just descend into "all religion is stupid and you're in a cult if you believe in any diety ^-^" and it's exhausting.

Deeply fascinated by the character of Javert. Hugo captured the nuances of Cop Brain so well. I've always appreciated reading older books and the frisson of recognizing common human behavior throughout the centuries, but rarely do you see it with such specificity as with Javert's Police Physiognomy

The only real departure from reality is Hugo, by necessity, gives Javert a little too much complexity as a character. As we all know, cops irl are incapable of moral rectitude even from a strictly legalistic standpoint. But committing suicide upon self-reflecting a little too hard IS accurate

This man is innocent, his appearance and build doesn’t match that of the killers, the only “motive” he had was a convenient written confession showing that he supposedly viewed healthcare companies as “parasitic” and too expensive (which does somewhat contradict the actual killers actions) he had said note and the murder weapon conveniently on him while living his ordinary life, the killer held the gun in his right hand while Luigi is left-handed, Luigi and the Killer were potentially seen simultaneously, they wore slightly different coats.

The NYPD KNOW these are different people, they know the evidence is lacking, this isn’t a mistaken identity, it’s framing, they are trying to make themself appear to still be control by catching this man, humiliating him, killing him, when they know full well that the person they are prosecuting ISNT EVEN THE RIGHT GUY! This is an injustice! This is not a fair trial! This is downright tyranny!

They confiscated his bag at the mcdonald's, took it out of everyone's sight, unpacked it and repacked it, and THEN took it down to the station and wow there was a manifesto in there that he was just carrying around in daily life for some reason
