Fun ADHD hack is that you're allowed to just go to the library and reserve a study room for a couple of hours and make all your phone calls or whatever adult shit you need to do but can't because your house is for House Stuff and for some reason your brain has designated "phone calls for doctors and other such things" as School Adjacent and therefore refuses to do it in an insufficently academic environment. Like it's free. You can just do that.

The downside is the public library is also a very good place to play Pokemon Go...but if you are strong you can tell yourself once you're done with all your phone calls you can hang out and play games. It's a tough battle, but one you can win.

In the abstract "people should be allowed to engage with media however they want" is not objectionable, but once the discussion involves the wider fandom and thus other people it kind of automatically changes. Like, ultimately there is nothing stopping you from engaging with Disco Elysium only on the level of "Harry and Kim are husbands" (they are) but some people in the fandom will find it annoying especially if it paves over everything else about their characterization. And if you willingly insert yourself into a fandom whose source material you find uncomfortable, it's not exactly on the other people in the fandom who want to discuss it.

It's the old punk thing again: significantly, there is nothing stopping you from buying a pair of combat boots and a plaid skirt and a biker jacket and that actually would own because that look kicks ass, but the moment you insert yourself into the punk subculture and reveal that your engagement with the music-based subculture starts and stops at drawing MLM ship art of Johnny Rotten and Sid Vicious, then people will call you a "poser." And you will not find the community you were perhaps looking for.

lotta people are saying the price thing is an overreaction and yeah, for the console price alone, maybe.

but its the combination of that plus the overpriced games Plus having to pay an online subscription to play half of those games PLUS any potentially needed replacements (we all remember the joycon drift fiasco. its a wonder the court case went the way it did.)

on top of the fact that a solid 50% of the switch's general audience would not be able to afford it with these prices. while there is such a wide audience that uses it, a considerable majority is: children and young adults. folks who arent exactly going to have a nicely paying office job.

also the minimum wage where i live is still $7.25 and i have more important things to pay for, like food, and student loans.

so while it is probably an overreaction, can you exactly blame so many people for being pissed? they deserve a little screaming and whining time, alright?

Also the pricepoint for physical copies is absurd when nintendo is pushing "key carts" where you still need to connect to their servers to own the physical game you bought. that instantly turns the software into a temporary purchase if/when they take their servers down. I understand this is already an issue but it becoming more normal is infuriating. you gonna charge an arm and a leg? at least fucking pay for the storage space needed to do so.

I think the bug is the inbox INCORRECTLY attributing anons to neighboring, logged-in asks.

Which is still a bad bug! Considering it makes it look like a long-time follower of mine sent me a spam ask.

And is worse if, say, one of these was anon hate.

But it's NOT the anon's real identity. It's a neighboring ask asker's identity

So if you have anon hate in your inbox that looks like it's attributed to your dear friend, who sends you lovely asks all the time, it was Not them.
