You know what, Kevin seeming to not have a strong sense of morality makes complete sense with the whole recently escaped a cult he spent most of his childhood in thing. He probably doesn’t trust his own morals, and like… would you? In the nest he was expecting to let Riko do whatever even if he knew it was wrong. Anytime he wanted to be nice he had to do it secretly. Then he leaves and he’s seen as extremely callous, but also he spends all his time with the foxes most of whom are very maladjusted, so the lines are terribly blurred. Like yeah ok, the monsters drug people sometimes but hey it’s apparently for their own good and it has nothing on the shit Riko used to do, so not his problem. The foxes beat each other up bc apparently that’s still fine? Whatever he’s staying out of it unless it directly involves him. Andrew chokes him and it was bad enough that he was stopped but also people were still mostly on Andrew’s side for that? Moving on I guess. Like it’s going to take forever to get a solid grasp on what is and isn’t ok in that situation. I think that’s why he defaults to outwardly worrying about exy in stressful situations (Seth’s death, the drake incident, etc.), because at least that’s something he’s sure about.

Half-smoked cigarettes, thick smoke, and air that smells of tobacco. No luxury, just the way things are.

Neil and Andrew, as always. ❤️‍🩹

It's established pretty early on in the aftg series that Neil has a habit of keeping things that are important to him under his pillow; a consequence of a life spent on the run. But can we talk about the significance of Neil keeping Andrew's arm bands under his pillow?

When Andrew gets assaulted and the cops get called, he asks Neil to keep them safe for him. The arm bands are important to Andrew because they cover his scars and because they conceal his knives, which he carries to protect himself and the people he cares about. Neil knows the bands are important to Andrew by the time Andrew gives them over to Neil. Telling Neil to take care of them for him was a massive act of trust on Andrew's part and Neil feels this keenly. But Neil could have locked them in his safe. It's what I would have done. He could have kept them in his desk drawer or his dresser. If he was embracing his new role in protecting Kevin in Andrew's absence, he should have been wearing the arm bands, or at least carrying the knives, but Neil doesn't do that. He just keeps them under his pillow with his keys and the phone that Andrew gave him and his stupid brown contacts. Knowing him, be probably reaches under his pillow to touch them while he's counting as high as he can in Spanish to try and relax enough to fall asleep.

Neil hasn't even realized yet that he has feelings for Andrew at this point in the story! Neil never once mentions missing Andrew while he's in rehab! BUT for the entire seven weeks that Andrew is gone, Neil keeps the one part him he has left underneath his pillow.

365 party girl (bumpin that)

after much trial and error (literally trying and failing miserably to draw him many times since the sunshine court came out LAST YEAR) I finally drew a decent looking Jeremy☀️
