The night sky on Mars

I was wondering whether the constellations would look any different on Mars, so I looked it up, and apparently not; galactically speaking Mars is so close to us that the difference is imperceptible. However, I did find this neat additional bit:

I know this is going to make me sound pretensions but I have to get it off my chest. I feel an unimaginable rage when someone posts a photo and is like "this picture looks like a renaissance painting lol" when the photo clearly has the lighting, colors and composition of a baroque or romantic painting. There are differences in these styles and those differences are important and labeling every "classical" looking painting as renaissance is annoying and upsetting to me. And anytime I come across one of those posts I have to put down my phone and go take a walk because they make me so mad

i really do feel like though that like. the ghost fandom is the first one i've ever been in that has been like. so so so positive about fat bodies in a genuine way. i grew up and still continue to live being told how ugly i am because i'm fat, that my mom "doesn't want fat kids," and like spent. so so so long spiraling mentally because the internet makes attraction to fat people the most evil disgusting fetish you could ever have. on my old blog i had someone harass me because i am a fat lesbian who is attracted to fat women. i cannot understate how fucking damaging it is to treat fat people like anything other than Human Beings.

and now here is the ghost fandom, who loves fat people, who makes characters fat. and acknowledges that fat people can be hot. and i feel so comfortable like. being me. and it sucks so bad that people are trying to make fat people into like. an undesirable thing to be. like it may suck to hear this but defending not wanting to draw fat people because it's "hard" or you'll "get cancelled" or whatever bullshit reason. really hurts the fat people in your life. it just reinforces that we're not just Human Beings. we're a fetish or a tool to represent Bad Thing or we're fucking stupid and ugly and ugh god why can't we just lose weight and be normal like we should be because being fat is something to be ashamed of.

anyway um. thank you to everyone that does draw fat people and portrays us as desirable and attractive and sexy or even just. as people deserving of respect. it means a lot.

This is actually really important and comes up in Anthropology classes all. The. Time.

As long as homo sapiens have existed, we have had the same emotional and mental capacity as you and I do today. You nailed it. They were US. Even Neaderthals existed alongside and had offspring with Homo Sapiens for many thousands of years.

There's much evidence that cavemen would have had complex spoken language, culture (learned information passed down), symbolic interpretation, and I think they most certainly would have been able to handle holding a baby. In fact I have my suspicisions that an ancient homo sapiens mother may be a more present, attentive, and knowledgable mom than I could be today.

Do not let media trick you into believing we are the pinnacle of humanity. Unilinial evolution theory (google it quick I beg) is BUNK, GARBAGE, and the root of so much evil.
