Another another friendly reminder that the Minnesota Starvation Experiment subjected adult men who were VOLUNTEERS to 1,560 calorie diets and the psychological effects were so profound that one volunteer cut three of his own fingers off and could not remember why.

These men were volunteers who knew exactly what they would be going through and when it would end, and who believed they were doing it for a good and moral reason (the research was used to help rehabilitate victims of starvation and famine at the end of WWII).

And these are the things we are expected to engage in FOREVER to stay at a “healthy” weight.

Reading about the Minnesota Starvation experiment was my wake-up call.  It was what kicked me out of my eating disorder.  The guy missing three fingers, whatever his name was, he was the last straw for me.

Scared me so fucking bad I stopped restricting my food that day, and never went back to it.

Just bringin’ this back around like I sometimes do.

as someone with a history of failing to do both because of dissociation and psychosis, one destroyed my body a lot more.

No, this is not a late April fools joke, nor is it a hoax or a parody, if I wanted fame and attention I could have just continued the work I’ve already been doing in politics without admitting to a high profile crime, if I wanted to just try to get Luigi off the hook then I will tell you that I DO NOT believe that this will clear his name, the narrative set up painting him as guilty would backfire horribly if they were to accept that someone else was the culprit. I and my mother were in Manhattan at the time and well… I had the opportunity to and knew how to get my hands on the right tools so… I went ahed with it.

Simply, I did it to try and cause tension, I knew that someone of his status dying like that would have caused chaos amongst the ruling class, and it being a Healthcare CEO really helped to get the message across, since while it is a different country my main work IS targeting and investigating the NHS and the quality of its health services (especially when it comes to wait times and the quality of care for disabled and Transgender individuals), and thankfully it appears the message I was getting across DID make it to people across the UK. Since this however I’ve been just back to doing more stale things, it’s not as easy to get a gun over here for one, and two I was making enough progress that I was semi-confident I would be successful without any more extreme and risky moves… however I think this is something that needs to be known considering the current situation.

I didn’t know if I could actually get away with everything, however, I didn’t really care by that point, I saw an opportunity and I took it, I was in an unstable position, had effectively seen my chances in education destroyed, and as far as I knew and still know the person who matters most to me who served as my motivation for living and engaging at all in politics was out of my life and may never speak to me again, in my eyes I really had nothing left to lose, and almost 4 months later I still don’t, so here I am. The REAL perpetrator, don’t anyone forget, they are trying to send an innocent man to his death.

Yes, I am a leftist who opposed voting Kamala because of Palestine and supports the rights of LGBT+ people, People of Colour, Women, disabled people and Immigrants, the main catalyst leading to the events on December 4th eventually happening was a Trans woman I sacrificed almost everything to protect. If this alters your perception somewhat, good, if this upsets you or caused you to try denying, then I don’t care, go fuck yourself. I saw some snippet of a callout post for an autistic trans woman where they list social faux pas she committed, and I think we allistic people should all feel 100x more ashamed of not telling people in the moment how we feel about what they're doing. I think its extremely evil and cruel to not only lie to an autistic person and blame them for it but also to feel justified shaming them for your behavior. And it's currently the social norm to do that

Everytime we as allistic people sit and force a smile or sigh and act subtly grumpy or otherwise lie to an autistic person's face about how we feel about what they did it is in fact Our Fault that we are enduring whatever the autistic person is daring to try and share with us. You can literally say something out loud directly. The literal structure of our social existence will always traumatize autistic people unless you can give a fuck enough to consider it isn't their fault that you didn't communicate with them

Even I couldn't understand this until my wife was in tears because I had internalized the idea that it was her fault that people were uncomfortable in a conversation where no one told her they were uncomfortable and blamed her for it. Allistic people punish autistic people for so many Percieved slights, or even decide together afterward what exactly the slight was and then make their collective judgment behind the autistic persons back. Not only do we get the benefit of communicating nonverbally through obtuse social cues the autistic person can't parce, we then get to say that we weren't going behind their back because we all did those social cues they are too disabled to understand Right in front of them. No, what you did was choose to suppress your feelings and then reap the social benefits of being in on the discomfort.

this is literally why many autistic people genuinely worry that their friends secretly hate them, by the way. because many people in the past did.

Transitioning to male or towards a more masculine identity doesn't make you a girl who ran away from how hard girlhood is or a gender traitor or forsaking feminism or a woman hater all around bad person or whatever people want to say about us.

Youre you, and during and after social and/or medical transition you're still you. If you end up being someone who does gain new privileges from that, it won't corrupt you into some patriarchy upholding machine who wrongs people with its mere existence. You're probably just going to be some guy named Steve. And Steve will be mindful to do good in the world just like he did before he was Steve. Even if he has new things to be mindful of.

You don't need to be afraid that you taking steps to be more true to yourself will hurt other people. You're not going to transform into some force of evil. You're still just you.

The widespread opposition to transfeminism by trans men specifically is to me one of the biggest vindications of transfeminism and of the fact that trans women are women, and trans men are men. Even while being trans, trans men are men and act according with regards to benefitting from patriarchy, and on top of being trans, trans women are on the recieveing end of that oppression on account of being women. No difference from the common retort from like 10 years ago (and more) some men levied; "I'm not a feminist, I'm pro-equality".

i think what bothers me about a lot of "girl power" narratives is that they function on the implicit idea on the idea that women can become worthy of respect. and i happen to think that really caring about women means believing they already are worthy of respect. that historical seamstresses and soccer moms and forgotten sisters and sweet polite little girls and someone's weird grandma matter just as much as the warriors and politicians, even if they, personally, never accomplish anything "cool."
