These images are so arresting I had to go find more about them. These were designed by Paul Tazwell based on the work of production and set designer Preston Singletary.

After immersing himself in Singletary’s aesthetic and in Tlingit artwork, Tazewell said he was inspired to make the clothing acknowledge that influence. “Much of [Tlingit] decorative and spiritual artwork has a strong black line, black clean lines on fields of color,” he said — hence the dark shapes on the king/queen garments, or the swirls on the wicked fairy Carabosse’s tattered gown.

LINES ARE ON THERE BAYBEEEEEEE OUGH GOD MY FUCKIN WRIST

(i kinda wanna scan this through as is for colouring page purposes lol. might do so after cleaning up the pencil)

hopefully i made the silly little details quite clear but:

  • there's a devil's tail coming out of the 'angel' 's gown as they tempt you with takeout treats
  • tried to emphasize the roundness of the delivery driver helmet with the aureole behind
  • it will hopefully be clearer upon colouring it in but the cornucopia is supposed to be made out of thermal delivery bag material. it's why there's a lid and a zipper

honestly sometimes stories where characters have self awareness and solve their problems maturely can be really refreshing sometimes. and sometimes it feels like therapyspeak slop. intense stories where no one is capable of understanding themselves and act out in incorrect ways can be very fun. and sometimes it feels like contrived bullshit. whatever makes "a good story" is harder to make happen than just using the right kind of characters using the right words
