If there's sexual abuse subtext no there isn't, if there's allusion to sexual abuse you're ruining it for everyone else by talking about it, if there's a metaphor for sexual abuse you're reading too far into it and it's actually a metaphor for anything more palatable, and if there's on-screen sexual abuse? Well that's exploitative torture porn, of course.

I love House actually. I love that he has chronic pain. I love how in one episode he goes home to sleep bc his pain is bad. I love how in season one, when they call him back to the hospital to search for the missing kid, he admits that heโs useless, but also he still comes in. I love that in the episode where he trolls Kutner and Taub with the fake patient death, he falls asleep while waiting for them. I love how fatigue and pain are so closely bound. I love the episode with the suicidal chronic pain patient where House says โheโs not in pain because heโs depressed; heโs depressed because heโs in pain.โ I love how closely pain and misery are tied in the show, feedback loops into each other. The show is far from perfect, but it has so many shining moments. Through acting and costume and writing choices, House is clearly, visibly, and behaviorally IN PAIN. And I eat it up.
This has nothing to do with my migraines and neck spasms whatsoever Iโm sure
Hilson post canon storyline will always be this to me:
House and Wilson's road trip lasts like a week or two. After that, Wilson has an epiphany in the middle of the night in some crummy hotel that he WANTS to live. 5 months isn't enough time to spend with his best friend, doing stupid stuff together and having fun. It's his own choice, and he realizes that he's willing to be in pain for House. (And maybe he also realizes he's gay and he doesn't want to be in denial anymore yada yada)
Wilson changes his mind (again) and the very next day decides to start treatment. House supports him completely and is both relieved and terrified. It's painful, it's scary, it's everything Wilson worried about, but House stays by his side unwaveringly the entire time. He's an honest, grounding force. After a year or two or three, Wilson finally declared cancer free, with House right alongside him ringing that bell.
House and Wilson don't "settle down" for the first few years after he gets better. they keep living their life the same way, traveling the country together and living life to the fullest, making up for all the time they lost during Wilson's treatment, and enjoying the time they've been given. Maybe one day, when they're both tired of life on the road, they buy a house together (Wilson buys the house because House is legally dead). They don't get married (that's against House's entire belief system), but all their neighbors assume they are. House somehow changes his identity and is known on all important and unimportant paperwork as "Steve McQueen."
Maybe they'll adopt a kid (a daughter because come on House and Wilson are girl dads) or get a dog, or maybe they'll just enjoy being together. Maybe Wilson and House will even find a way to reconcile with Cuddy.
And then, at some point in the now present (2024-2025 ish), they get a knock on the door. It's Foreman, who knew House was alive all along and tracked him down. There's a grave situation going on at PPTH, and he's run out of all options. He needs House to figure it out. House, at first, declines but eventually decides to help with Wilson's blessing. Boom. that's how you start the 9th season of House.
here is my interpretation of hilson using letterboxd because ive been spending wayy too much time on the site. wilson: puts genuine thought and care into what he logs and how he rates movies. will spend like 30 minutes staring at his screen trying to choose between a 4 and a half star or a 5 star. usually doesn't leave a review but if he does it's a cohesive, well written paragraph analyzing the movie. top 4 are all old films and probably would get called pretentious for it. also loves trashy 2000's romcoms but never logs them. house: nearly the complete opposite. trolls on the app like 90% of the time. username is something like "suckmydicktarantino69". gives popular, respected films a 1/2 star with a shitty ragebait review. his top 4 are all dumb cringey objectively bad movies that are generally universally made fun of. if asked he'd say its for the bit. but he lowkey just loves a good ol' crappy movie. has like few films he genuinely likes and rates accurately. shameless letterboxd plug at the end but if u wanna be mutuals my user is mzmf!!!! will follow back! need more oomfs on there.
