I don’t have any finished work of WIPs rn, but I do have a few silly humanformers university AU drawings

I think Cliffjumper would be that one friend who’s just constantly studying abroad. You’re not even sure how they keep getting into the programs. You see them on campus maybe two days out of the year lol

I also feel like Bee and Roddy would somehow be related, either as cousins, half-siblings, or otherwise unrelated stepsiblings (I’m a sucker for sibling rivalry dynamic). I think they’re both equally hardworking, but Bee’s mind works better in a university environment while Roddy’s struggling a little bit.

I can also see Bee as that one friend who has the absolute most hellish schedule imaginable. They’re probably double majoring in two difficult majors with an extra minor, a seat on student government, and a ridiculous number of extracurriculars

I’m still stuck on colorblind Transformers.

If Cybertronians interpret colors through something similar to human rods/cones or with sensors that pick up on the intensity of red, green, and blue light, then they could probably have colorblindness types similar to humans. So some Cybertronians might have difficulty distinguishing between certain colors, distinguishing between colors, or seeing color at all.

I think it would be fun if their more mechanical nature extended their range of colorblindness. Maybe the color filters (red, green, blue) their processor has to apply when interpreting color are slightly out of line, so things appear as multiple colors at once, or colors shift as their head moves. If they need to send out light first in order to interpret the reflection, would a malfunctioning light impact their color perception? Maybe they can only see on other light wavelengths, so colors look different. Maybe they need both optics to properly perceive color, so damage to one eye means they have difficulty perceiving color. Maybe they can only perceive color in bot mode, but use other sensors when in vehicle mode.

Is the color vision different between forged and cold constructed bots? Does color interpretation change when one becomes a Prime? Does the size of the bot determine the degree to which they depend on color differences? Does alt mode change how bots see color? There are so many possibilities

Anyway, this is a very long way of saying I’m trying to find a plausible way to make Thunderclash colorblind. This would not change his character and would have no impact on the story. I’m just doing it for the love of the game.

Trying to plan a reward in case I get my research approved is so difficult. I hate spending money, but I also like cool things, which are unfortunately quite numerous

This was such a fun challenge for me. It’s been so long since I drew a full human or used a canvas larger than a sticky note.

Also, thank you to @smokey07 for noting the similarities in Blurr’s design to Hermes’ winged petasos! I can’t unsee it now, lol

Considering Greek and Roman mythology, would Sideswipe and Sunstreaker be more like Castor and Pollux, Artemis and Apollo, or Romulus and Remus?

I’m personally leaning towards Castor and Pollux, but honestly there are so many mythological “divine twin” pairs (most of which I’ve left out!) that I want to make sure I’m covering my bases. I’m also quite new to the twins, so maybe their dynamic is different than I’ve interpreted it.

(This is mostly so I can find more Greek statues to use as pose references for Transformers art. I’m already heavily considering Megatron as the Farnese Hercules)

My research application has continued to the next step! Hopefully I’ll do well in the interviews. I really want to do this research.

How do people draw so frequently. Are you all wizards

I think more Transformers characters should be colorblind. There’s the obvious potential of the Decepticons being unable to tell the seekers apart, but imagine the possibilities. ‘Is this photo of Bee or Cliffjumper?’ ‘Was the Autobot commander I just saluted Optimus or Ultra Magnus without his armor?’ ‘What do you mean the factions are color coded, wtf is a purple?’
