Reblogging from me is like a trap. I will reply/reblog. I will attempt to be funny. I will follow you until we become mutuals by rbing all your posts like I’m a squatter in your living room commenting on all of your wall art. There is no escape.

This is a threat

Come play with me in this space. It’s fun- I promise. This is how I make friends on the internet.

The Endless Scroll requires fuel

The Dopamine Machine needs mutuals

Fun ADHD hack is that you're allowed to just go to the library and reserve a study room for a couple of hours and make all your phone calls or whatever adult shit you need to do but can't because your house is for House Stuff and for some reason your brain has designated "phone calls for doctors and other such things" as School Adjacent and therefore refuses to do it in an insufficently academic environment. Like it's free. You can just do that.

Can't express how stress free being open minded is.

Some lesbians use he/him? Oh cool.

Some people have people inside their head and sometimes it's fictional chars? Sick your brains like a pirate ship they're all working to run.

Some people like being treated like a pet dog? Bark bark bro.

Being fat isn't unhealthy but a perfectly normal type of body to have? Kinda beautiful how different we can all be.

Something doesn't make any fucking sense? Cool an opportunity to learn. And even if I can't figure it out it's cool we still have mysteries today.

It's just... idk man. People are weird. Being a person is weird. Society is weird. The universe is weird. Rather than having to "normalize" everything, just accept that some people are weird. So are you. Nothing is normal. the rules are all made up. I once saw a Klingon pushing a baby stroller down the street in toronto. The world is a weird place, man. Just roll with it.

Also like…we made most of it up? We used the language we made up to come up with words for the things people feel and who they are and what they want, so if someone isn’t hurting anyone else (which does not include simply making people uncomfortable—feeling uncomfortable and learning to manage that discomfort is an important part of life) we can just move on. They’re doing them. Even if they aren’t following the rules or following societal norms, who cares! We made those things up! We can change them or make up new things to include everyone if we want!

Me: I’m going to start only eating when I’m hungry. That way I won’t snack all day long and I can enjoy proper meals when I actually need them instead :)

Me 22hrs after my last solid food: wait fuck I forgot about the ADHD

My ADHD when I leave snacks out in the open: oh look a snack. oh, look, a snack. oh a snack. oh look

My ADHD when I put all the snacks away in the cupboard: I’ve never heard of food in my entire life.

I think you guys are onto something

Sometimes you just gotta let an email sit in your inbox until you’re confident your reply won’t start with “listen bitch”

Im sorry but it is so funny how people outside of tumblr view us. Like why are the tiktokers treating tumblr like some professional ass website you need to do extensive prep before you begin posting on. And the follower farming advice is so fucking funny to me when this is the website where people actively hate getting new followers

this is going to sound like such a little sibling ass take but i genuinely believe that being a little bit annoying is actually a greater sign of maturity and self awareness than being universally likeable and on good terms with everyone

if some people find me annoying and can't stand me because of how i think and act then that means i'm a fully realized human being with my own personality and opinions and free will and not just a reflective surface for other people's desires, which is in fact a good thing despite what people who want you to just be a reflection of their own opinions and desires will tell you, and why being considered "cringe" or whatever doesn't bother me at all

also it's really funny when you're confident enough in yourself to know that people not liking you isn't always a sign that you're the problem. like there's something undeniably hilarious about being aware your mere existence has the power to piss someone off and ruin their day and i recommend embracing it.

work is disabling; disability is class-enforcing. adjust ur ideological paradigms accordingly

Can someone elaborate?

sure!

work is disabling

  • physical labour is a literal strain on your body. historically this has been a given of certain forms of labour, eg, even before the official recognition of disability, mine workers in many parts of the world received disproportionately high wages compared to other jobs because it was understood that your body would break down by the time you were 40-50 and you wouldn’t be able to work anymore. the high wages were for supporting you after that, but they were only present where unions had been able to force this demand on bosses; there’s a reason mine working has historically been a common form of slave or indentured labour. this example is an obvious one (and one i wouldn’t want to rely on for various reasons) but if you’ve worked stocking supermarket shelves, or cleaning, or as a barista, or as a farm labour, you will know that being on your feet for hours on end, the repetitive movements required to complete tasks, the strain of constant attention, these all take their toll
  • work environments are stress inducing and long term stress has both physical and mental effects. it can change how you approach other people, how you regulate your emotions, how you relate to social settings. stress can produce strains, it can produce headaches, it can produce tightness in muscles that are can cause injury
  • when you need to work to provide food, rent, clothing for yourself, you are not as able to protect yourself from health and safety risks. you are more exposed to disease and to other health risks, depending on the job, and you are less able to effectively rest and recover, thus increasing the likelihood of long term complications

disability is class enforcing

  • being disabled is expensive. simply getting healthcare at all can be prohibitively expensive for many people. this is not even to mention mobility aids or other specialised equipment. you may have to spend more on specialised diets or accommodation. you may need to hire personal assistants or other forms of labour to complete certain tasks for you
  • there are less jobs that you are able to work. you are less likely to be able to work long term. you are less likely to be able to work longer hours, and your partners may also have to work shorter hours to care for you. you are more likely to be forced into precarious employment or onto benefits which, which available, are pitifully small
  • you are more likely to face job discrimination and more likely to face housing discrimination. the housing you are able to get is likely to be more expensive
  • you are more vulnerable to abuse, either domestic, or in public, or by the state. this is increasingly the case if you are Black or a migrant or a woman or trans or homeless, etc, and it’s increasingly the case the more poor you become

this is not a complete list, it’s just what i could think of off the top of my head (and i just woke up too lol). i hope that clarifies some of the factors i am thinking of here. feel free to ask if there is anything that is unclear

adventure time slang is weird cuz like. when you first watch the show and hear the slang you're like "oh this is cringy slang but its not like awful" but it gets to a point where the voice actors deliver the slang so naturally you don't even notice it and its just. part of the world's vernacular. I can't think of any other show that's done in-universe slang like this

Finn: oh man the frappin dude just ginked up and went flipoo over the junkin fence

Me, 3 seasons into this show: wow he really did huh

It's true but it's also funnier knowing the storyboarders were usually just making Finn say fuck

this is math

i have spent years rewatching all 10 seasons and recording every expletive i hear in adventure time:

Filing these away for later.

I'm sure this will somehow be useful data for something I don't yet anticipate
