Im not Christian nor religious whatsoever but I will admit that the story of jesus, from a purely narrative perspective, goes fucking hard and if it were a fantasy novel my atheist ass would've eaten that shit up in junior high
When the Bible says it it sucks because it not only implies that others must accept this as the truth, but those who don't are ontologically evil.
When some midgrade fantasy series says that some woman was the pure-of-heart maiden to carry the ultimate chosen one who would usher in an era of forgiveness and compassion towards our fellow man, by ending an era of cruelty and evil, but in order to do that he had to take on the burdens of that cruelty and pay the ultimate sacrifice for those who wanted him dead, even though he deserved it least of all? Immaculate. You're telling me one of his closest allies, a man he trusted implicitly, was the one who betrayed him? No notes. He was made to carry his own torture and death device through the streets for others to gawk at and laugh at the same guy who was trying to save them from themselves? He still forgave them for it as he slowly died of exposure? He was fucking resurrected through the power of love? Would've drawn him as a warrior cat on my math homework.
