I'm a little nervous posting about this again, but-

Hi (๏ผ ยดใƒผ`)๏พ‰๏พžI'm the little guy behind the curtain that runs this blog. As of January, I'm starting up my degree again after having to put it on hold due to the pandemic.

Which means I just got the bill for my classes and- ah...hahaha... aaaaah (เฒฅ๏นเฒฅ)

If you can, any and all help would be deeply appreciated.

Well, just paid the first bill... For two classes, it was over 4,000 USD.

To say I want to cry is an understatement, but I'll... figure it out. I do want to take the time to thank those of you who donated, or even just shared the ko-fi. Around 4% of that bill was paid for by donations, and I cannot stress enough how grateful I am.

This is going to be a long (and expensive, oh hell) process, but I'm determined to get it done.

Thanks for being here with me.

I just wanted to take the time to say thank you, publicly, to anyone who's donated. As of right now, 15% of that 4,000 school bill has been covered, and I cannot express what that means to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm gonna get that stupid piece of paper and then go find a job where I'm *happy*.

Pro goblin tip:

Add a little-guy-holding-a-shiny-thing patch to an item of clothing. You will not regret this. Bonus points if the little guy has a whole nest of shinies.

It looks like today is going to be a night of checking up with my friends to see which ones of them are now unemployedโ€ฆ Tumblr seems to have been hit hard

It looks like developers, both web and mobile, are the biggest group in the 280 people laid off

After publication, we began hearing more about which orgs were impacted from various sources. According to at least one source, just north of 100 were from WooCommerce. Weโ€™ve also heard Tumblr, Day One, and the AI orgs were impacted. In the U.S., layoffs spanned roles, including account execs, marketing, product (management and design), sales, community, business operations, and more. The default severance package is just 9 weeks.

The severance package being 9 weeksโ€ฆ i know more than a dozen people who have been fired today that were already in the company when I joinedโ€ฆ 10 years ago.

9 weeks.

GOOD MORNING, SHADAMY NATION!

126 people responded to our user-submitted prompts poll, and now, we have the results for #ShadowxAmyWeek2025 ! This graphic was made with the amazing work of @salami-dono, who also made a larger piece for you that will be shared come the 1st of June!

See you then!

And as an aside, if you like what I do, please consider throwing pocket change at me. I'm currently going for my postgraduate degree and shit's expensive.

oh yeah have i ever told yall of the academic war i have been an unwilling soilder in for the past two years

okay SO. i have two professors that both teach this one subject, but different classes. they have different last names, so i didnt know this at first and espically since they are academic RIVELS at my school, but they are MARRIED. but for the past 8 years they have been in an academic WAR of geospatical sciences data. more accurately, the raster vs vector data debate. i am personally on the side of "both have their pros and cons and can be utalizied to the utmost efficency" but both professors are like, DEADLOCKED in insistanting one is better then the other

so, professor A is my mentor. i like him a lot, and he was the main person that taught me the most abotu Eris and ArcGIS. professor B is a professor i had one for class, and shes nice and knows a lot of little tricks about Eris programming but mostly relies on arcMAP because shes the raster data professor.

and THESE MOTHERFUCKERS. have written no less then 30 papers that is basically like a "re: re: re: re: re: re: vector data is better then raster fuck you" but like, Professionally. and they leave stupid notes in the footnotes that read "Reguardless of Professor A's opinions reguarding the efficency of Vector data, Raster data has a more efficant polygon computing rate and is the most commonly used program on interplantaring mapping" and its HILARIOUS

ive read all of their papers, and its basically like reading an email chain between a married couple arguing over the colors of the kitchen backsplash for their new home. its HILARIOUS. but obviously, because of their differnet last names and because they act like they HATE each other, NOT VERY MANY PEOPLE REALIZES THEYRE MARRIED

until like LAST WEEK

professor B publishes a paper that casually drops the word "husband"

and obviously all the students are like "oh i didnt know u were married!" because we read that shit like how white suburban mothers read People Magazine

and shes like "yeah, its Professor A"

and we all FLIPPED. THE FUCK. OUT

we thought the framed picture of the two of them on professor A's desk was ironic because hes that type of guy

like, you gotta undestand. these two have gotten into YELLING matches in hallways. these two refuse to go onto trips with each other. but apparently they have a system where they quite LITERALLY leave all of their work at work and drive home in seperate cars and literally NEVER mention work at home. it is SO funny

A federal employee union has sued to block a Trump administration order that would strip bargaining rights at 18 departments, arguing the president abused a limited national security authority to attack unions.

posted all those bullshit photos in past few days and neglected to consider that i could've just put 'em all together for the occasion of transgender day of visibility. serendipity, methinks. so since you've evidently not previously seen a single image of my face, let alone several, here's me, all from this week. "never too late" can sound cloying and saccharine. might be true though.

(that's zero HRT, no HRT. couldn't get it for long, long time because of chronic illness complications, devastated endocrine system, and unaffordability. but as fate would have it, apparently recovered enough and doc is giving me my HRT tomorrow, so. if a dipshit like me can survive, there's a way.)
