my friend Ahmad (@ahmadfamily) is continuing to suffer the inhumane conditions israel is imposing on Gaza. he and his elderly mother both need medical treatment, and if they’re not receiving any donations they can’t get that medicine or food they so desperately need. please help my friend not starve. any donation however small would mean the world, and if you can’t donate please share. thank you
this should make you angry. children in gaza have been out of school for a whole year and will be out of school as long as the israeli invasion continues. palestinian children live in flimsy tents which do not offer them any protection from the heat/cold. they travel long distances to search for water. they are threatened by water-borne diseases and skin infections that are running rampant in gaza.
no aid has been allowed in gaza since may. there is a shortage of everything from food to medicine to blankets to tents. this means that prices for everything have gone up.
it has become very expensive to survive in gaza. heavy rains followed by the winter are fast approaching. a tent does not offer much protection against the elements.
help alaa [ @alaakh998 ] buy supplies for the winter and medicine for her son who is suffering from a skin infection. she has two children aged six and four. she needs to ensure their safety and welfare and it cannot be done without your help.

Was it an impressive display of physicality and fortitude? Absolutely! Credit where credit is due. But... I keep asking what the result was. What was the result of Cory Booker filibustering nothing for 24 hours, except to delay Senate business by one day and to protest Trump. We can't bring up Strom Thurmond as an example without remembering that he (fortunately!) failed in said protest. They pushed the Civil Rights Act anyway. What did Cory do differently to avoid that outcome of failure under Conservative pressure this time, other than not actually picking a bill to genuinely filibuster and prevent business on.
Because protesting is good! Trump obviously needs to be spoken up against. But... It didn't accomplish anything. It was a symbolic gesture that appeased a certain demographic of people (liberals) who needed to feel good. Like it didn't do anything, and that's the bit where I'm like... 😐 An impressive performance of the circus, but a performance nonetheless.
Can we bring back Palestine Academy as a resource, I fear a lot of people are forgetting to go back to the basics and simply learn about what is happening in Gaza and what HAS BEEN happening for the past 76 years
