YOU CAN SEE THE ICONS OF ANONS SOMETIMES.
The way I was able to recognize several anons in one of my inboxes bc of this error. Oh my god. Guys. This isn’t supposed to happen.
Weighing in to say:
YES, I SEE THIS ON MOBILE. HOWEVER I DO **NOT** THINK IT'S SHOWING THE ANON'S REAL IDENTITY.
The profile pictures I see next to anon asks are profile pictures that belong to other, non-anon asks in my ask box also. Some info
- there are 14 asks in my inbox from the last ~5 days
- 9 anons, 5 logged in users
- ALL 14 show pfps, including the 9 anons
- ALL THE SHOWN PROFILE PICTURES BELONG TO THE 5 LOGGED IN USERS
I think the bug is the inbox INCORRECTLY attributing anons to neighboring, logged-in asks.
Which is still a bad bug! Considering it makes it look like a long-time follower of mine sent me a spam ask.
And is worse if, say, one of these was anon hate.
But it's NOT the anon's real identity. It's a neighboring ask asker's identity
So if you have anon hate in your inbox that looks like it's attributed to your dear friend, who sends you lovely asks all the time, it was Not them.
CONFIRMED THE BUG IS INCORRECT ATTRIBUTION.

One X user critical of King Arthur Baking’s contest posted an email she received from the company in response to her complaining. “Helping build joyful, equitable communities that celebrate diversity is an important part of who we are as a company,” the email states, later adding: “We love baking with anyone and everyone. Our simple expectation is that everyone show respect for one another.”

Sometimes the point of the reveal is not to shock you. Sometimes the point is anticipation of the reveal. You know it’s coming, just not when, how, or what the consequences will be. And sometimes that can be so much more interesting than not seeing it coming at all.

watching @nanowrimo within a single hour:
- make an awful, ill-conceived, sponsored post about "responsible"/"ethical" uses of ai in writing
- immediately get ratio'd in a way i've never seen on tumblr with a small swarm of chastising-to-negative replies and no reblogs
- start deleting replies
- reply to their own post being like 'agree to disagree!!!' while saying that ai can TOTALLY be ethical because spellcheck exists!! (???) while in NO WAY responding to the criticisms of ai for its environmental impact OR the building of databases on material without author consent, ie, stolen material, OR the money laundering rampant in the industry
- when called out on deleting replies, literally messaged
mepeople who called them out to say "We don't have a problem with folks disagreeing with AI. It's the tone of the discourse." So. overtly stated tone policing. - get even MORE replies saying this is a Bad Look, and some reblogs now that people's replies are being deleted
- DISABLE REBLOGS when people aren't saying what nano would prefer they say

i'm still fucking frustrated, i'm still fuckign disappointed, i'm still just SO furious that some stupid repeated management dipshittery took a fun event that encouraged people to just WRITE and not get stuck in their own heads and fucking turbo spiked it into the mantle of the fucking earth.
