𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐬 :   being  a  sarcastic  little  shit ,  being  in  charge ,  anita ,  money ,  burying  each  and  every  emotion  deep  inside  her ,  keeping  her  friends  &&.  family  being  safe ,  sweets ,  arguing ,  cats. 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐬 :   people  second  guessing  her  authority  or  abilities ,  cowards  (  or  anyone  she  deems  as  cowardly  ),  the  boss ,  getting  blackout  drunk ,  birds. 𝐚𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜 :     split  lips  and  bandaged  knuckles ,  not  recognizing  the  person  in  the  mirror ,  tattered  jeans  and  worn  boots ,  fighting  for  a  better  future  for  your  loved  one ,  the  sun  peeking  over  the  horizon ,  reeking  of  sex  and  sweat ,  half  buttoned  shirts  and  rolled  up  sleeves. 

   she  was  all  blood  and  bruises  and  regrets,  black  and  blue  and  green  and  purple.  the  bags  that  sat  under  her  eyes  were  deep  and  dark,  blood  that  trickled  and  flecked  from  the  cut  etched  into  her  eyebrow  mixed  with  the  bit  coming  out  of  her  nose  and  pooled  in the  corner  of  her  mouth.  mengzhi  couldn’t  even  recognize  herself,  physically  nor  mentally.  it  looked  as  if  belonged  there,  the  blood,  the  bruises,  the  regret.  all  of  it  added  to  the  monster  that  she’d  become,  the  persona  she  was  forced  to adapt.  it  made  her  sick.  it made  her  whole.

  clinging  to  the  counter  she  stared  at  the  shell  of  a  woman  that  glared  back  at  her.  being  out  in  the  streets,  fighting  for  your  life  everyday  and  not  knowing  if  it’d  be  your  last.  it  changes  you.  mengzhi  averted  her  eyes  as  bile  crept  up  her  throat.  monster.  that’s  what  she  was  destined  to  become.  anita  only  stunted  that  process,  she  didn’t  know  what  she’d  do  (  or  become  )  without  her.
