โ€œThe carving (Fig. 2) was discovered in the joint tomb of the Pharaoh Meheb and another male figure believed to be named Kai-et. The Tomb dates from the 5th dynasty (25th century BCE) so it is unknown why Meheb is depicted wearing a predynastic (3100 BC) style red-wicker crown of Lower Egypt. Scholars theorize why the pharaoh is depicted in such close contact with Kai-et, a position normally depicted between married partners. Some question if it is because of the position Kai-et holds as a โ€œkeeper of secretsโ€ for the Pharaoh (IAoA, 43) or if there was possibly a blood relation between the two. A more current interpretation, uninhibited by cultural bias, is that they may have been, in fact, lovers (Dr. R. Wayne, 38).โ€

โ€œThe relief (Fig 1.) is from a vessel that was discovered in a dig near Athens, dated at around 53o BCE. Depicted are two nude male figures astride a horse, seeming to ride into combat. While the figures are not known definitively, based on the blue shroud one wears, scholars have hypothesized that these may be depictions of Malak and Lysander, two highly mythologized warriors from the period who had a very close relationship.โ€

artist tips

donโ€™t save as jpeg

as a former yearbook editor and designer, let me explain this further

if youre only planning on posting your art online, them please save it as .png ;this is also better for transparencies as well

BUT

please, if youre planning of printing your art, NEVER use png. it makes the quality of the image pretty shitty. use jpeg or pdf instead. and always set your work at 300dpi to get a better printing quality - this means, the images are crisper and sharper and theres no slight blurriness. i had a talk with my friend who is currently taking design, and pdf is much better to use when youre working with a bigger publishing company because it still has the layers intact, but if youre only planning on printing your stuff at staples or at some small publishing store, the jpeg is the way to go.

this has been a public service announcement

Hello! I just found out that you're also a Krita user!! >:D How do you get your images to come out so clean?? When I export/save mine they come out so blurry. . .

Ayyy Krita Fam ๐ŸคI used to have trouble with that too! I've found the best way to avoid fuzziness was to increase my ppi and save as pngs instead of jpegs. These are the settings I use when making posts for tumblr:

Hope this helps!

Even if youre not an artist they dont really give a shit if you use official art as long as no one reports it so if u have any design ideas u can make with editing official art or ur own art or just. cool text with colors. you can do that. make a redbubble im shaking you and crying Make a redbubble make a

More redbubble tips

- QUANTITY. QUANTITY QUANTITY QUANTITY. the more u have the more ppl will buy the more ppl will buy the more exposure the more ppl will buy

- if ur design is tiled people are more likely to buy things like blankets and duvet covers which give u a decent amount of cash each. not like a shitton but enough for u to go Oh hell yeah. duvet covers are the most expensive item on the site and they give like. $20 minimum if someone buys one w ur design. and it does happen they Do buy them

- Put ur designs on EVERY product. theyre regularly adding new ones too. dont think to yourself "no one will ever buy this on this product" its an extra ten seconds Do it. Do it

- EVEN IF u have NO followers u can do numbers on redbubble

- upload products regularly!! i dont rly know how redbubbles system works but if u go forever without uploading ur sales will die down. im working on a new set of designs rn so i will update if my sales go back up

- i am begging yall....make a redbubble. u upload the designs and they do EVERYTHING else for u . its idle income
