Why the hell am I here?

@writebethany / writebethany.tumblr.com

Welcome folks to that piece of internet I call my blog. I hope your stay is pleasant. I write fanfic for half a dozen fandoms (or more I haven't counted in a bit) usually f/f or poly pairings, whatever has the most *sauce* for the brain. As such what ends up on here is usually chaotic and has no rhyme or reason. You know. The usual tumblr experience. Enjoy.

The biggest “your experiences are not universal” thing I feel is whenever anyone talks about the universality of girls planning their weddings since childhood because. Well. Not me. God bless

whenever people say shit like “i couldn’t be polyamorous, i’m so jealous and possessive. if my partner even LOOKS at another girl/guy i’m gonna kick them out of a window” i’m like well you should probably be working on that. like even if you don’t end up doing polyamory it’s probably good to not be like that

I love talking with neurotypical people about my executive dysfunction because I'm like "yeah there's this invisible wall in my head that I'm incapable of getting past no matter what I do and it stops me from doing things" and they're like what the actual fuck

Meanwhile other neurodivergents are like

having friends notably older than you is fantastic actually, cause you can drop in a little mention of how old you would have been at the time of a story they tell and watch the existential crisis set in

Get off my lawn.

Having friends younger than you is fantastic actually, because you can mention a year from your childhood or a defunct technology and watch them realize in real time that it wasn’t as long ago as they thought.

You can survive almost anything through the right combination of:

  1. Bitching and moaning
  2. Hater-ology
  3. Doing a goofy little bit about it
  4. Having a buddy say "that's so fucked up" at intermittent points (you can also be your own buddy)
  5. Destroying the cursed amulet you carry everywhere, why do you even have that thing
