Commission sheet :3
I personally see myself as being judged as not good queer rep, as aroace who dates, "feminine" trans, "emotionless" trope, alien/robot/outsider coded, etc.
This poll is because i am often thinking about characters that are considered bad rep, but I know people in real life are LIKE THAT and identity is messy! In my opnion bad queer rep would be the ones that are shown or touched upon on screen. Idk, just wondering.
Edit: lmao i wrote hood isntead of good and tumblr didnt let me edit
I'm a bi woman married to a man, absolutely not
every fandom needs to be more like blaseball fans and make and listen to fan music. blaseball was so truly the best fan music scene maybe ever
if yall like fandom music you should check out the 1980s filk (fandom folk music) scene, for example this is a whole album of songs about the original Star Trek show
a while back I had a dream that people would put their otp (gay) underwater, like on a jpeg, and put text on it saying "the writers might have made you straight but the fish know" and it was so vivid I made my own, it was this one specifically in my dream:
it pisses me off that so much of my political energy ends up going towards stupid basic shit like 'racism is bad' and 'queers should have rights', when i would much prefer to be arguing for the fringe opinions like 'destroy all copyright' and 'borders shouldn't exist' and 'abolish marriage' that i actually care about.
i think the near-extinction of people making fun, deep and/or unique interactive text-based browser games, projects and stories is catastrophic to the internet. i'm talking pre-itch.io era, nothing against it.
there are a lot of fun ones listed here and here but for the most part, they were made years ago and are now a dying breed. i get why. there's no money in it. factoring in the cost of web hosting and servers, it probably costs money. it's just sad that it's a dying art form.
anyway, here's some of my favorite browser-based interactive projects and games, if you're into that kind of thing. 90% of them are on the lists that i linked above.
if you're ever thinking about making a niche project that only a select number of individuals will be nerdy enough to enjoy, keep in mind i've been playing some of these games off and on for 20~ years (Alter Ego, for example). quite literally a lifetime of replayability.
since this post blew up, i've been wanting to do an addition with all of the recommendations from the comments and tags. but there's a lot of them. some people might be crazy enough to sit down and seriously put them all in one post with descriptions. those people are honestly sick in the head.
anyway, here's all of the recommendations from the reblogs. not all of them are text-based, but it's a great mixture of styles. also don't forget the links in the second paragraph of the OP which will take you to FMHY where there are a bunch more games listed.
thank you to everyone who contributed and the creators. please be sure to show them some love where possible.
Reblogging the update too
Play Seedship, i loved it

when they got character staring into their reflection and seeing someone else at the function
I feel a kinship with the sunbeams because I too love to stare into the sun
Why does that guillotine have a smaller hole.
It’s so you can still see the “blade” at the bottom, to trick you into thinking it went through clean.
Fuck it
Learning Magic the Gathering from my partner has been kinda hilarious cuz I find a lot of the cards will be either:
Treznor, the Eternal Flame: *3 paragraphs of text* -> Widely maligned, considered basically useless
Grey Rock: adds 2 mana -> $14,000 per copy, outlawed in 12 countries
a pigeongirl detective would say something like "hmm... i've got my suspigeons"
