Pinned
Gonna pin a new, more generic masterpost because the Galactic Starcruiser one is starting to get too long for a pinned post, so... I'll be back to edit this one more later, but for now:

i should have prepared more for davrin week but here's a very rough take on a combo of day 1 and 2 @datvcompanionweeks
I have a soft spot for Davrin, and every now and then when I see art of him, especially art like this that not only captures who he is and his connection to animals and the land, but also somehow still thematically connected to him being a Grey Warden, I just am reminded how he kind of snuck into my heart.
Beautiful, haunting and touching art.
vora'shivan, your heart is a good heart. so trust it. i love you, bellara. and i'm proud to be your brother.
Can you hear me out there?
Anniversary of APOLLO 11 MOON LANDING
On July 20, 1969, 109 hours and 42 minutes after launch, Neil Armstrong and Edwin ‘Buzz’ Aldrin entered the lunar lander ‘Eagle’, made a final check, and the Eagle undocked from the lunar orbiter ‘Columbia’, where the third member of the crew Michael Collins, stayed in orbit around the moon. Partially manually piloted by Armstrong, the Eagle landed 0 degrees, 41 minutes, 15 seconds north moon latitude and 23 degrees, 26 minutes east moon longitude. Armstrong stepped out, and Aldrin followed 20 minutes later: human beings stepped on the moon for the first time. The two men spent 21 hours and 26 minutes on its surface. One of the astounding aspects of the mission was the seeming simplicity of the technology used to get man to the moon. According to Oliver Gassmann, professor of Technology Management, the mobile phone in your pocket has one million times more memory than the Apollo 11’s computer. Same about the procesor: the latest phones typically have more than 100,000 times the processing power of the computer that landed man on the moon 50 years ago.
“It suddenly struck me that that tiny pea, pretty and blue, was the Earth. I put up my thumb and shut one eye, and my thumb blotted out the planet Earth. I didn’t feel like a giant. I felt very, very small.” –Neil Armstrong

AAAND WE HAVE LIFTOFF!
New Blood: complete. 👍
(The colour grading I previously mentioned definitely subtly adjusted as the show went on, a clear creative choice as his world got slightly more vibrant again as Plot Happened, but it was still such a weird contrast whenever they used a quick flashback to the old show.)
I knew how this one ended because I'd been spoiled on it via understanding the framing of the prequel, and it definitely takes some wind out of its sails knowing it's not the definitive end with the even newer show having just started. I wonder what I would have thought of this had I seen it unspoiled when it aired, when at the time that was The End (TM) as far as anyone knew...
Well. Now I've officially reached Original Sin. I should spend tomorrow focusing solely on another Art Fight attack, but I'll probably get going on at least the first episode because reaching this one was the whole point of this binge to begin with. It's taken nearly 7 months, but I'm finally there. 😅
the sunlight on our skin, and all the other things that make us human
Speaking of OCs named Tal, my second art fight attack went to @annissdraws of their own "Tal":
Fun spunky twi'lek caught my eye first, and then when I spotted her name (Talaria "Tal" Wren), I knew it was fate and I had to draw her. 😅
Not a prompt but does anyone have an OC that was basically a character from an existing franchise? Not an OC inspired by said characters, but actually started out as a canon character that you gave one too many headcanons until it was an entirely different character, so they end up as your OC.
i'm gonna put this in the queue bc i think it can be considered a prompt :)
Heheh meeee 🙋♀️
On Tal's Art Fight page in the credits I wrote:
"A borrowed nameless Stormtrooper from the Galactic Starcruiser whose only contribution to the plot was getting tossed in a trash chute so a character could steal his armor, so I decided to rescue him and make him a contributing member of society. 👍 So 5% credit for him being a generic Stormtrooper in a canon story goes to Disney/Star Wars. The rest of him is still mine."
The fun part of this was our group projecting on to whichever trooper we wanted on our cruise because they have no specific designations* and they're all virtually identical until the finale, when you finally know exactly which trooper can become Tal because plot*. So whenever one of the troopers did something a bit deviant to the First Order? "omg that's so Tal". 😂
Yeah. Work that carpet, dude.
Just a suit of armor on the ship, a fully fleshed out dude in my heart:
(* ...ok, technically one trooper has designation FN-524 in the datapad, but his pauldron in his profile picture implies a squad leader that we never actually see walking the floor, so I chose to assume he's a different trooper completely, maybe off the ship for some reason and why he's communication with Croy on datapad comms, and then I ignored that trooper completely shhh.)
