my mom always says that your kid's first birthday party is mostly for the parents, not for the kids, because the kids are not going to remember it. parents do, though. they spend so much time planning the parties and inviting people who they want to be a part of their baby's lives. they plan out the decorations, the baby's outfit, the cake flavor, the little party favors. my mom still has pictures from mine and my siblings' first birthdays.
unfortunately, baby majd and his parents, yousef and khadija ( @youseffamily ), could not do any of this. that's because majd spent his first birthday in the hospital. he struggles to breathe, you see. he has a severe respiratory illness that cannot be adequately treated in gaza due to the ongoing genocide. despite the lack of resources, though, his parents are doing the best they can for him. they want what any parent wants — for their kid to be safe and healthy and away from the horrors of war.
this is how he's spent the majority of his life so far. he has an oxygen tank but it is not a cure or a solution, only a measure to treat him in the meantime.
please donate whatever you can, even if it is only spare change. it goes a long way in helping get majd and his parents to safety, to a place where they are free from the horror and fear of war, a place where he can get the treatment he needs. he is only 1, and he is chronically ill, and a warzone is the last place he should be in. his parents are desperate for help.
they have been vetted by 90-ghost here, and you can find their fundraiser here. they have managed to raise €24,625 of their final goal of €30,000. i believe that if we all come together and give whatever we can, we can help them raise the remaining €5375 in no time at all.
if you cannot donate, please reblog and share majd's story. the more people that share, the higher the chances are that it will reach more people that can help. please do not underestimate the role that a simple reblog plays.
thank you for reading, sharing, donating, and everything that you can do for majd. as a token of my gratitude, if you send me a receipt of your donation to majd, along with a fic prompt, i will write it for you. i will write 100 words for each €1. you can contact me through my askbox for this.
