The All Points North podcast is a look at the week just gone in Finnish news. We're aiming to tell you what you need to know about Finland this week.

This week's show includes a look at rulings in French courts against deporting asylum seekers to Finland, because of concerns Finland might then deport them to Iraq and Afghanistan—even though France itself does send people to those two countries. We try to untangle that knot with Juho Takkunen from Yle's foreign desk.

We'll also hear about the potentially lucrative and fairly popular world of Finnish esports.

We look at plans to change Finland's rules on dual citizenship, an ambitious project to construct a tunnel under the Gulf of Finland, the campaign for Sami rights in 2018, US approval for a potential missile deal, the conclusion of the police investigation into the Turku stabbings, and the sacking of a professor accused of gender-based harassment.

We also cover a party political poll published on Thursday, but don't let that put you off. Listen via Yle Areena and iTunes, via the embedded audio above or most of the usual podcatching services.

We'd also like to hear what you think, so please do contact us via WhatsApp on +358 44 421 0909, on our Facebook page or Twitter account, or at yle.news@yle.fi.

This week's show was presented by Denise Wall and Egan Richardson with special guests Mika Mäkeläinen and Juho Takkunen. Reporters were Lydia Taylerson and Ronan Browne, our producer was Mark B. Odom and our sound technician was Laura Koso.
