Alma Media published a poll on Friday that suggests the government's controversial and troubled package of reforms to health and social care 'Sote' is supported by just 18 percent of Finns.
Some 34 percent of respondents said they couldn't say whether or not the reform should go through while nearly half said parliament should reject it. Just 18 percent of respondents offered clear support for the package, which increases private sector provision and introduces a new layer of government to administer the services.
The poll also broke down respondents by party affiliation, with the Centre Party the only grouping whose supporters clearly back the new law. Some 41 percent of respondents who support the National Coalition thought the reform should be rejected, with 31 percent unsure and 28 percent supporting the flagship package of legislation.
Both the Centre Party and the NCP hold party conferences this weekend, with Sote expected to be high on the agenda.
The poll was conducted for Alma Media by the Tietoykkönen polling firm, and interviewed some 3,600 people in May and June.
