Rosi Kämpe, a self-taught drawer of comics, has landed a job at Marvel, the wildly-popular US comic book publisher.
The Helsinki resident draws Spider-Gwen, who - as many comic book fans likely know - is also called Gwen Stacy, Spider-Man’s one-time girlfriend.
Kämpe says she had been drawing her own comic series Unknown Lands, but had dreamed of working for a publisher. According to Kämpe she travelled to England to show her portfolio to experienced drawers, who advised her on ways to develop her style.

Gradually Kämpe began to drum up businsess through assignments from other comics publishers, until she was finally able to meet Marvel representatives at the London Super Comic Con event. They saw what she could do and hired her, Kämpe says.
She is currently working on a new series called Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider.
Marvel is owned by Disney and, apart from Spider-Man, its best-known characters include Iron Man, Captain America and the Hulk.
