Two boys who attend Turku's Haarla primary school found the body of a woman in a forest by the school on Tuesday morning, according to newspaper Turun Sanomat.

The boys made the discovery right before school started at 8 am, according to the paper.

Local police confirmed later on Tuesday morning the body found was that of a woman aged about 38 and that her cause of death is being investigated. Police said no crime is suspected in the incident.

School principal Minna Kirkkola told the newspaper the two boys who stumbled upon the deceased woman were in sixth grade at the school. She said that crisis counselling was provided for the boys right after they reported their grim discovery.

School staff also discussed how to approach the topic with the other children at the school, Kirkkola said.

Police advised the school to inform parents about the incident via the web-based parent-school communication platform Wilma, Kirkkola said.

The notification to parents and guardians said that no crime was suspected to the incident.
