Finnish F1 driver Räikkönen authors haiku booklet

Ferrari on Thursday unveiled an English-Japanese book of haiku poetry by Formula One world champion Kimi Räikkönen in the Japanese city of Suzuka.

The poems are inspired by oft-heard phrases from Räikkönen, known as the Iceman, for his tendency to display a lack of emotion and affinity for keeping speaking engagements short.

The poems, mostly related to motor racing and Finland, are published in English with Japanese translations. Reporters covering Formula One immediately showcased some 'classic Kimi' quips on Twitter:

This is Räikkönen’s last season with Ferrari, where he has been a driver for the last five years. He will be replaced at Ferrari by Sauber driver Charles Leclerc, and in an apparent swap, Räikkönen will then move to Sauber for two years.
