Dry northwesterly winds blowing over the country are keeping precipitation at bay in most areas on Boxing Day. But as the day progresses, clouds will gather in the east, bringing some flurries and freezing rain.

Thursday will see a mixed bag of snow, rain and overcast skies nationwide. The mercury will climb above freezing in many parts.

By Friday, Lapland can expect a new spell of snow, while the rest of the country will be overcast and dry. As the weekend approaches, temperatures along the southern and western coasts will stay above freezing while sub-zero temperatures are forecast for the rest of the country.
