Dry, sub-zero temperatures are making for smooth return traffic on Boxing Day, which is typically when most holiday-makers head home.
”Traffic will gradually increase this afternoon, but I don’t think we’ll see massive jams as some people are still on holiday,” Marja Sillanpää from the Finnish Transport Agency told Yle.
"This afternoon road surfaces will re-freeze and sun is in store -- great conditions for hitting the road," the road safety official explained.
The Transport Agency expects highways three and four to be the busiest arteries on Wednesday.
