A boy born in 2012 drowned on Friday afternoon swimming in a lake near the city of Pori on Finland's west coast. The boy was accompanied by his family, and the Southwest Finland Police Department says there were several other swimmers present during the incident.
The police say they have no further information at this time.
Lake Lavijärvi is located in what used to be the municipality of Lavia, which merged with the city of Pori in 2015. It is about an hour's drive east of the city.
