Fifty people in Espoo have received instructions to self quarantine after it was confirmed that a home care worker and an individual who had been inside a daycare centre had Covid-19 infections, according to the city.

The daycare centre's staff and children were all instructed to quarantine. The parents of children who may have been exposed to the virus were personally notified about the situation.

The parents of children who were not at risk of exposure to the infected individual but who attend the same daycare centre were also notified by staff about the situation.

The name of the daycare centre was not announced.

Meanwhile, an individual who works for a company that provides home care services was also confirmed to have Covid-19 and was put into quarantine. Eleven of the firm's employees who may have been exposed to the virus by the care worker have received instructions to self quarantine.

None of the care provider's clients had been infected, but their health status is being monitored for safety reasons, according to the city's communicable diseases unit.
