Wet and windy weather is turning into snow in eastern parts on Tuesday as the temperature drops. Eastern areas may see between three and eight centimeters of snow, according to Yle meteorologist Nina Karusto.
A low pressure area on Wednesday will, however, bring more rain as it sweeps over Finland, melting most of the snow anticipated to fall in North Karelia.
On Thursday more rain is due to move in from the west, which will crystallise by the time it reaches central areas as it merges with cold air flowing down from the north.
This could potentially result in fresh snowfall of up to 10 centimetres stretching from Ostrobothnia to Kainuu.
