Police in Turku have asked for the public's assistance in identifying up to 20 people that were involved in a mass brawl at a nightclub in the city earlier this month.

A preliminary investigation into the events surrounding the incident, which has included the review of surveillance camera recordings as well as interviews with nightclub staff, has led police to believe that between 10 to 20 people took part in the fight.

"The number of suspected assaults is currently six, but that number could change as the investigation progresses," Detective Inspector Joachim Mattfolk said, adding that the investigation is also looking into suspected cases of damage to property and resisting arrest.

Police have identified a number of people they believe were involved in the brawl based on the security camera footage, but no arrests have yet been made.

"We are hoping to get more information from eyewitnesses at the venue. Those who were involved can also contact us," Mattfolk said.

Turku police have asked anyone with information to contact them by email, vihjeet.lounais-suomi@poliisi.fi, or by WhatsApp and by text message to 050 411 7655.

More information on the progress of the investigation will be provided in the autumn, police added.
