Finnish universities static in global rankings

The University of Helsinki fell two spots from last year's ranking of 118, but still outranked other Finnish universities.

The University of Helsinki is ranked the 120th best university in the world, according to the latest Center for World University Rankings (CWUR). Out of 100 possible points, the institution received 81.

The rankings list the world's 2,000 best universities, but a total of about 20,000 universities are included in the evaluation.

The criteria for the evaluation is based on factors like the quality of teaching and research, as well as graduates' future employment prospects.

The University of Helsinki dropped twospots from last year's ranking of 118, but still outperformed other Finnish universities.

Aalto University ranked 345, University of Turku 395, University of Tampere 429, University of Oulu 459, University of Eastern Finland 478, University of Jyväskylä 585, LUT University 989, Åbo Akademi 1,104, and Hanken 1,486.

No Finnish university improved their ranking from last year.
