This week's episode of All Points North explores security considerations following Finland's decision to restrict the entry of Russian tourists.
"A fence itself will not be a silver bullet solving all the problems, any time, everywhere," Matti Pitkäniitty, Head of the International Affairs Unit with the Finnish Border Guard, told APN.
Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto (Green) on Thursday said the decision to shut off Russian tourists was accelerated by damage to the Nord Stream pipelines and sham elections in Russian-held territories of Ukraine.

Iranian community take to the streets
The show also hears from Finland's Iranian community, which is staging rallies across the country to protest against the death of a young woman in Iranian police custody.
"This gives me hope that people are now united and chanting together, they don't want to let the dictator make decisions for them anymore," protest organiser Azar Sarikhani told APN.
Peer support
And in a follow-up to a story that has gripped the APN audience, we visit a Finnish language café in Helsinki to find out how foreigners are learning Finnish from each other.
"I think what you have to do is develop a certain level of Finnish that allows you to keep the conversation going even when people switch to English," explained Bernhard Gerlich of The Good Coffee Company.
