The Finnish Association of Air Traffic Electronics Employees (ILTT) has issued a strike warning to both Finavia and the National Conciliator’s office. The seven-day strike action will begin on Monday, August, 15 if no progress is made in talks to secure a new deal on wages and conditions. Commercial aviation is already under the threat of lightning strikes by air traffic controllers.

Some 70 ILTT members operating at all Finavia operated airports will be affected by the action.
ILTT Chairman, Pekka Martin, says the strike would slow down the maintenance of systems used by air traffic controllers. The union has been engaged in negotiations with Finavia over a new deal on pay and conditions for six months.
An overtime ban, introduced in June, remains in effect.
